currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

" e( P& z6 u# e5 N/ d7 I5 w8 c  @Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
9 y3 r6 L7 z! X0 vpay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
, ?" F" P% U# T5 R1 i8 U; @- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
0 \, p; G1 B; R5 {- E+ A& {  ]* qthe student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
school year starts.

Duties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
! [) j6 }/ }* Z$ [8 V# jCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
venues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
+ U4 G6 X# a1 G/ Z6 @/ O+ ?etc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
% g" O8 W3 [2 {- A. z6 Q. ?2 }" dtheir program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
6 ~, T7 q. K8 Z$ L9 P! zvenue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
6 I$ w: k9 ]* G+ h( u  L: _outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
. s9 m; l$ \0 H# Mexcursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
0 u' ~4 w0 ^5 O9 x. \& ]! `7 K" hexcursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
3 h0 I! x1 i4 [! ffunctions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
such as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.
& i# o$ y" E, \7 c1 E" G" w
- ?! L2 R; Q8 zQualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
) f8 F0 b1 h. F6 D, Ufluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
$ g: c: Y6 m3 L3 N) f5 Xa variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
( Z  i7 \4 X! `3 N( jof co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
1 J3 H+ l8 Y( T; rskills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
4 w# O+ I$ G& V; c) ]0 Qexperience coordinating group activities an asset.
