The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
" f! l+ m0 V5 Z- P9195.  

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
. [( R3 ^. j% J+ C$ i% a5 H2 Icompounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
& `6 B* J3 _; y6 P0 F0 d1 JChemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
7 C& I; H' v) e! n( y$ z9 yseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
% C# \9 F4 @' c4 ^" x8 \  F: ]of a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
