The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
9 }8 B- z% b4 w& y% |% v0 xtechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
; s' d& b. c% ^/ h8 Afor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
2 J$ k1 h  @$ G4 F) ^( Dinclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
* i3 R$ A" D* p" M) `Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
/ W- k, g6 L( ?. wanalytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
9 ~! `( T) Q  d1 @0 Xand chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
