Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and, g# @+ X3 s, h, N/ @& o
weekend hours.
( d0 r4 c( O9 I) hYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
$ N. m ~* E( s/ b, m9 R; f1 I$ Plab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the+ N5 I! O5 W, i0 L+ b) B" E( I
centre.
: ~8 x& Y- ~3 H, uThese responsibilities include:
/ b" a% A/ \8 L" R-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
7 v0 {' A* s$ L& H-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.9 y- h4 b% P& F, X
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and; Z# h( y3 j4 p5 [. b5 Y7 r
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to 8 h9 g; o/ i8 B' q
facilities’ maintenance, etc. 5 d0 a- a2 h+ Z) d
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic 4 X# m$ p/ \7 ~ _3 O/ \
clients’ files etc. ; N- o% Y0 @4 f) V; j
Statement of Qualifications

! H# P: B# c0 z- T9 V-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, 1 k: v, p7 {7 a8 S
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
$ J2 g3 F8 Z. p" d! qof education, training and /or experience.
: x; v' @# l( tKnowledge/Technical competencies:
/ V m4 @6 S3 S8 v-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
# Y0 @; u4 ]1 Y-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word+ q! u' n2 \* u) |" V- q# A7 W
and Excel. , ^% g4 M% L* w" E5 R
-Experience using and updating an information database.

-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.

-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
