Hourly rate: $20 ($40,101 per annum prorated at 12 hours per week)

Job description
Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
" ^4 x* R1 C7 o; nweekend hours.
) I1 B$ P8 T, J1 h) p/ QYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
4 T4 Q( _% T4 R5 B) M$ Llab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
5 S7 y) w) _7 ~. h* D0 jcentre.
These responsibilities include:
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
/ @3 Z; b; g% ~; p& @& C-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
+ q/ k: e( q5 Q-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
7 J) z6 p3 V. trenewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
$ f0 g: f- f. ^; h& nfacilities’ maintenance, etc.
, J. f" A& d% E-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic
. S. y1 b0 d: P4 D2 N6 {clients’ files etc.
Statement of Qualifications
3 r" C) {  c9 \" Z. w% JEducation:
-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
7 s1 P$ j" [3 Eof education, training and /or experience.
: {+ q: g5 I* H) G' h7 [' q8 |Knowledge/Technical competencies:
$ Y# _2 j: {) i/ S-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
, D- R+ F# m! m/ u& V8 ~and Excel.
2 V' T$ o4 ]0 A4 e. `) v-Experience using and updating an information database.

# G# g6 L3 q" {# O3 O. k% B+ i# \Assets:
-Experience in using MS Access.
; ?2 I1 k; s: k8 J# j; s2 A9 O-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
% N; P% G4 X- I0 [8 v-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA
Abilities:
-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
+ |! u) G% ~3 I6 p) a-Ability to operate a computerized system to research information.
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
