U of A professor and his wife charged in alleged sexual assault of minor

Zhixiang Wang, 50, and his wife Xinmei Chen, 49, were arrested at Edmonton Police Service headquarters on February 14.& P: L+ D% k* C( b( }
0 L) A+ o% d+ S5 vWang is facing charges of sexual contact with a minor, and sexual assault – for reported incidents dating back to between Nov. 1, 2009 and May 31, 2010.. Q& J6 |" g1 S0 S

Chen is facing a charge of unlawful confinement of a child for alleged offences from May 31, 2010 to Jan. 29, 2013.

The University of Alberta issued a statement Friday, and confirmed the couple are both employed by the U of A, but are on leave.
