, \0 X* V6 X+ i- {　　A hundred leagues locked in ice,

" Z2 ]4 c0 [7 e) `, G　　A thousand leagues of whirling snow.

1 ]2 J6 M7 O, g& G& l. _. C6 _# @　　Both sides of the Great Wall

5 Q/ K& o5 W8 l( `　　One single white immensity.

　　The Yellow River"s swift current

& K& J- r& j4 }( p; `4 N　　Is stilled from end to end.

　　The mountains dance like silver snakes

2 h6 d. [2 L9 T" W# K. z+ Y4 z　　And the highlands* charge like wax-hued elephants,

# Y$ I9 R" s9 ]3 l8 m/ @) w　　On a fine day, the land,

　　Clad in white, adorned in red,

　　Were lacking in literary grace,

$ B( E( e6 T/ a$ O+ u　　Had little poetry in their souls;
1 t! m  T' ^# s5 ~) u　　And Genghis Khan,

" @! J0 g% E, e$ ]- W  Y& H　　Proud Son of Heaven for a day,

- h3 ~1 q* p# t9 E! ~　　Knew only shooting eagles, bow outstretched

) K" c$ J9 p: S　　All are past and gone!

　　For truly great men
