T, W. a( o1 H4 G8 W5 j( \2 cThe Alberta Tories continue to slide, while the NDP surges and the Wildrose maintains the lead, according to the latest election poll released Tuesday morning.
% w: N5 l# G- r& o8 b7 m6 Q# `) C+ G( Z4 n$ I
The NDP is dominating Edmonton at 51%, according to the survey, and is in a three-way race in Calgary.
$ j+ I# z C9 `! y8 ]& M. Q
; p1 B3 h% m; O1 y, L' S' {The telephone poll of 3,121 Albertans conducted Monday showed that compared to a week earlier:$ P1 g" M; @7 D

Wildrose is flat with 24% support
o8 ?9 U6 b# F2 k+ e; y' @NDP increased to 23% support, up 3%
' } e. M7 A: m) h, ZThe PCs dropped to 18%, down 3%& y# R% I2 @# K; ]
Liberal support is down a point, to 8%, G* D, {1 B" T; h
The Alberta Party is up a point to 3% j0 I: i* i$ N3 \: J. z

“One thing is becoming clear at this stage of the campaign, the effect of the budget and residual anger to the governing PCs will have a lasting impact on the outcome of this election,” said Mainstreet’s Quito Maggi.

He said the election could turn into a two-way race between the NDP and Wildrose, leaving the possibility Tories shift votes to the Wildrose, or vice versa, to stifle NDP momentum.

% U! C5 i1 M8 `6 k1 dThe NDP showed a whopping 51% support in Edmonton, to the Tory’s 21% and and Wildrose 10%.5 Y# K; U2 o) v3 {- @( Z; T1 S" U
