An ATV crash in western Manitoba has left a woman dead and a man, who was knocked into spillway, missing and presumed drowned. CBC's Nelly Gonzalez reports. ) B- g4 G: Z! J% S* d2 q! l$ p

t' e( C# B, D! Q* O( G0 L8 RAccording to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.% o: M$ b. \# G7 e! f) u: A
6 l4 s( @% \8 R3 O. f$ Z; YShe lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.5 {! W$ y6 d- J) W; u2 x* f

The man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.7 L( N( H" \, H& \3 d3 y9 T* _$ Q
9 C' Y, k, e% nSearch efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said.0 @6 m3 D+ w* d/ w

A Brandon man is presumed drowned after he was knocked into the fast-moving waters of the Rivers Reservoir Spillway on July 12 by a woman on an ATV. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Search efforts are still underway, as well as an RCMP investigation. (Nelly Gonzalez/CBC )
