An ATV crash in western Manitoba has left a woman dead and a man, who was knocked into spillway, missing and presumed drowned.2 I! ~! r. T7 L6 m2 H1 f
p6 m @0 I l5 kAccording to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.

8 e/ I( U( `! tShe lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.

) n$ q G' C$ Y6 v4 }( @' wThe man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.

Search efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said.

4 E ^6 v- n% \- ?" r% qA Brandon man is presumed drowned after he was knocked into the fast-moving waters of the Rivers Reservoir Spillway on July 12 by a woman on an ATV. Rivers is located about 30 kilometres northwest of Brandon. It is near the Little Saskatchewan River, which enters the Rivers Reservoir, also known as Lake Wahtopanah.
