Newcomers are being offered some help when shopping for a home in Edmonton’s tight housing market.
( S. L# X2 f) n4 `2 i: U9 @' BImmigrant women and their families can now access a “household toolkit” crafted by a local service group for new immigrant families, through real estate agents. % ^( x* x) K0 ] [+ U/ B
: A3 S$ t# U1 G1 t4 uIn the tool kit are 75 common hand tools – like a hammer and screwdriver – as well a book on how to buy a home, a home maintenance schedule and other items.

: p r$ P E) c% D7 U4 e: a“The tools are a symbol of hope for people trying to build new lives in Edmonton,” said Madeline Sarafinchan, president of the Edmonton Real Estate Board.
