Orientation 2006: The Action Starts Here! Your registration in the University of
! z: H: I+ S1 K+ ?# aAlberta's Orientation program is now confirmed. In addition, we would
/ o1 o. j& O' V3 A4 ~% s9 Y1 \like to thank you for your interest in the My Undergraduate Groups + z8 _. R% Q1 o3 N' o
(MUGs) Program; you have been signed-up for the 2006-2007 school year. By 2 x m7 c% N% |) c& }& x2 V, \, w' \
attending both Orientation and MUGs, you will receive a great deal of
0 p4 [ F M N+ Cinformation that will make your transition to the University community
0 g; ]4 E7 D" C( h- {more successful.

Orientation 2006 will be held on Monday, September 4th and Tuesday,

If you are unfamiliar with campus you can visit

. d4 ~, t/ U. f9 m' u. b8 A6 u9 P) }to find your check in location all by yourself, there will be hundreds 3 T9 c% L( q; n' f" G8 l
of volunteers ready to help you when you get to campus. Specifically
! {( O$ w$ K' }) G5 Mlook for the volunteers in bright colored t-shirts, as they have a wealth ! i" Y+ b3 K5 ] O3 e
of directional information.

Both days run on a similar schedule, from 9:30am to 6pm, with evening ' z! \: T3 m0 F. }6 A) x
activities planned for both days. Throughout the 2 days you will attend 1 f- p5 W- `, Y
a variety of sessions crucial to your success at the U of A. On Tuesday & f4 j1 h% e" x" h' n( y, \. }& ]* |
evening we host our highlight event, the President's Address, in & E7 r. S# J( N1 D* G/ F0 p
Hawrelak Park.

; [; ^1 x/ O: B( ?1 k; l( ~You will also meet your MUG Leader and the rest of your MUG group on
, g- c7 P, H- P" k& tSeptember 4th, with whom you will spend the two days at Orientation 2006,

! u. C6 \& d0 UBoth MUGs and Orientation 2006 will provide many opportunities for you
/ D8 e% q3 s) H/ T1 a s# ]! Y% lto get all of your questions answered and to meet other students from 4 U/ Q r* W) d
your faculty. Among other things, you are scheduled to receive your
) @' |( e f8 n8 QONECard on one of the two days of Orientation 2006. To be able to process
8 A% m8 U# Q6 o# m2 V, Nyour ONECard, you will need to bring your acceptance letter and a piece ' } H: r% K" Z0 V1 I3 Q
of government-issued photo ID. You will also need to bring your Campus
& q; @" e# e% g. MComputing ID (CCID), which was sent by e-mail from AICT (Academic
! p6 V& Z7 @- \Information and Communications Technologies). Dress for the weather and $ Q+ _! H9 r9 S& r2 x
bring either money or food for up to four meals (lunch and dinner for the
5 N8 K! R7 G* S0 itwo days of Orientation).
