Drilling Engineer

Reporting to the Team Lead for Drilling and completions, the Senior Drilling Engineer will perform all aspects of well design including; Casing and Tubing Design, Mud Systems, Fluid Hydraulics, Primary and Remedial Cementing, Specialized Technical Software for tubular design and effect improvements in drilling efficacy.

1 ^& w: ~6 V4 s2 uMust be proficient with technical software, specifically related to drilling engineering e.g. stresscheck
- \5 {8 d, X X/ S+ A7 PFor each well, confirm casing/tubing stress analysis, mud/hydraulics programs, cementing program, collision avoidance criteria
9 m) w- _0 t" I* gPrepare Drilling Program, Basis of Design, ADW and other special operations programs as required in the course of the operation
- M x2 W9 d' p1 x, l/ f" S. E0 Y, TSteward to the recently implemented Well Delivery Model for Suncor including multi discipline peer reviews and post well reviews4 \& t: }$ V- }
Prepare End of Well Report which details cost analysis, operation analysis and provides recommendations for continuous improvement 0 [- R* i$ v8 C) Z! b: ?
Prepare technical specifications to be used in tenders for materials, services and equipment used in the drilling operations 9 y8 ~) ^: b" v
Stays abreast of current technology and Best Practices within and industry and recommend the application of new technology : t" Q, O. ]# T
Prepare management of change for drilling programs as needed
! U: i' B0 |6 t$ ~Communicate regularly with the cross discipline members of the NAO Team on progression, lessons learned cost and efficiency improvements as well as investigation on operational setbacks7 l F# S' f% c0 M( ~/ b: Y+ R
Mentor junior staff7 b1 o: |1 G# w+ j4 v0 G
Participate in cross company technical forums on drilling and completion technology
$ x0 Z _9 j' ?7 ]% e/ W* u* h3 B: v9 h& b6 E+ i/ U8 r

The preferred candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA
% `- f0 A0 H: OMust be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word & Excel as well as casing design software such as Stresscheck or equivalent1 O8 w5 A; Y9 l. {7 }. u% ~1 b
Service company or oil company drilling or completions operations experience preferred. r" \$ b: q( y9 @1 O+ v# s; z
Field supervisor experience will be an asset! T" p: V6 _0 f, S1 I; O) d7 N1 O
