- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment ) G% a; O( f9 J
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
/ z- j! Z9 Y- F h4 h8 @( \- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
- Q, i- [: o2 o J- Select type and size of pipe required
6 p% y! |, \! o7 J, G) o9 o% y% p- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
/ Y1 _# P' _- ~. ^4 b- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system8 a' v' T9 P* | g0 t# q
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems

- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system$ a. {- t& i7 k: y; f
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system5 U, H" Z, T- D) S/ }
- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program% T2 A/ x# d+ }% {/ b1 h& Q9 Z
- Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

# Z: B9 s4 _- \' e- {2 {: C7 u9 ~* {) Y2 M
- Completion of secondary school6 h7 H7 C1 F' @% }' }5 E u
- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation & X6 F; w1 f( h6 q0 o# z
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals3 g1 Q& H# M( c
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence: v" }1 k# [3 B \
- Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset- F& l6 j3 t' b7 Y6 u
- Safety tickets are considered an asset
