Hours of Work: Part-time (21 hours per week)

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:
$ R9 C% X* d8 z2 F8 L( J• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person" G- M- F& g" N: `9 F- |
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST+ A' n( F2 I* R0 b* L# Q
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately6 e0 F* z" {' h* a5 i# f
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
! M) S+ o! Q% y4 a8 U• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
' Y: z6 j0 B/ j" |. `• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
! e1 N. E9 q- I X9 c* s" s• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
' {) J& O# v% U# J |- ~• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
+ E/ \& W y) i" y• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
/ k; b! W3 g; U1 u; C/ t• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters3 t+ Z1 E- p5 N6 I4 h; W- t: ]
• Maintain front counter service files

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:1 g* X" B7 U, Y1 K& y% }
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
+ k) H+ F4 q- F3 P/ \; T3 j• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
) g' |0 m i' j• Good English writing and oral communication skills
: D9 ?$ ]* o( |% \" Z• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients7 a. ^9 Z; ^) g: ~; K1 {0 ^! P
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
) ]& m' f4 ?9 _• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately $ y- n& R a+ V2 P/ g& H# W6 c; S
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

Qualifications:
! u$ L! @+ m1 S. L! ?) m8 P• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience 5 l' @% {% E! A, L9 Q
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment P0 u: G: V. d
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
: j* Q0 b- K" J+ I6 @# ^• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
