Edmonton police have arrested and charged a 26-year-old man with a weapon offence, following several recent gun complaints in the southwest community of Riverbend.

A male wearing a balaclava and carrying a handgun was spotted by a pedestrian walking in the area of Falconer Road and Riverbend Road at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police arrested the man later in the afternoon at the Terwillegar Recreation Centre, after receiving a tip from a resident.3 }, k+ A6 v. X
; H8 w4 N }1 s; t- [* r' E% L/ m0 I* OA search of the man's home turned up a BB pistol and balaclava matching the description given by witnesses. The man is charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.
