Career Edge Organization is currently looking for help to fill a great internship opportunity for a Letter of Credit Officer with Scotiabank located in Calgary.

Mandatory Qualifications:

9 }5 p6 q" E* m# e; N* a•        Several years of practical experience in Trade Finance activities

* }% R4 v% w! s•        Thorough and complete knowledge of the Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits, the Bills of Exchange Act, INCOTERMS, world shipping practices, and Canadian / Foreign customs

•        Strong knowledge of statutory requirements, International Law and Customs relating to Letters of Credit and Bank policy as high level transactional support to customers is required

•        Capable of applying knowledge in accurately assessing / mitigating transaction and compliance risks and making judgemental decisions on problem transactions

•        Comfortable working in an environment involving significant risk exposure to the Bank.

•        Possess an ability to evaluate high risk, complex transactions and make recommendations to the Senior Assistant Manager to minimize and or mitigate potential losses to the Bank and its customers.

•        have the equivalent of a Canadian bachelor’s degree and a completed education credential assessment
1 w: }  q+ P3 m, z/ W1 {1 Q•        have at least 3 years of international work experience in their field
•        have little or no career related Canadian work experience
5 E" o. u' w4 u5 _( I; S6 K/ X( {; E' e  G•        have been in Canada for less than 3 years
