Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:/ E+ n0 J& M5 `; w; }. V9 D
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:! c( W! N' I3 g. A1 t# y
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;. }8 K. c7 G( m- B! H" w, I
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
5 D- [; h2 m" ~5 L1 t: T5 H• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
7 D ]* \2 e" q• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
0 R, n, B0 [ g8 N# z• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;2 K$ M2 I; k: ~; d6 ]- n
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
; Y; e2 S3 j. d4 q# O' q• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
4 r& h" u$ s' B3 h% D' `$ {* Z• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities4 A; A* Y0 {. ~1 Q$ i: b
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;/ ?' O' F( _! b' i4 q8 A1 V! q
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
( o7 K) K' P% V4 H! Q4 E• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
8 O9 @( E) Z# u6 |0 W% ~• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

! i" }; t2 s5 B/ i! ^, ^# w• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
( G0 [1 f; l: V( E3 v! S; M• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
W$ A# e+ A# _9 V• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
" Z+ x/ K% J* D• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;. ]: L- m; T# [7 z! @4 O; ^
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.0 @: G8 z5 ^- Q4 J& z9 i! v
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
3 n0 {* e" w, Z( f9 P8 W/ [• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
2 C V$ A3 V0 R! ]• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;( [! C* f1 \0 D& A# U8 y
• Current valid drivers license;/ U# V/ v% x7 B# w# ]4 x7 d& h' |
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;% p: F! f/ `# j5 C
• Conflict resolution skills;9 w& D9 v* t- e) ?& K: Q
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
* j! P9 N* E7 }8 a• Committed and passionate about children;
