Job Purpose:
: {$ x3 t% E1 U5 W K tTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

/ P7 T1 F1 U. o: {( JThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

5 E7 M+ j' V" I" JAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
8 L/ e4 q; R- b( ?• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;! l% L% K+ o$ z
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;% L, ?8 |& W& {& i7 A8 j* V) Z
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;9 _% I& I, b+ D7 h0 `3 ]: R' Z
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
0 X) W; `/ `7 X# z• Risk Management and succession planning;# j( p8 w. c3 Y, r9 P, t

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
( w+ A$ w) i8 n. _ A5 F0 W Y% v5 ~& V• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
. d6 T2 u; }8 ?5 G• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
: N( Y( j7 u" Q; n• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
& x$ D4 X4 p: \. `) r• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
& d2 q% n& i5 m) l: { w5 K- e2 h• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;+ t2 l6 g6 G, a+ `" X7 l
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;+ x% m3 S* c4 N2 ?( {% U l
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;/ H% U& ?: t3 C: s# m. A4 g& r
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;$ Z7 ]6 w6 d% j

Qualifications:! J0 M% p) t2 Q- p
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
. n6 W$ P8 w" Z/ u5 u" J+ \' u( T• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;0 v) `% j/ H) ?" s6 J5 n6 @" t
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; 5 \1 n4 @' L# r4 s/ A8 P$ U* I
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;) W) E& E* r0 A
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.- F& }# K. _. |0 X( e* y) {8 {1 z& x
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;0 d/ K3 B5 |7 H. P/ ?% [! R1 X' j
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;$ c& R9 L$ D9 c; z
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;4 z2 F. f* t; r4 M7 S/ X
• Current valid drivers license;" U$ g6 y. h; @ }3 u8 w1 @4 z
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
4 l( c7 {3 g3 u• Conflict resolution skills;
