Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:3 P9 y* a! e4 J  j2 ^! ?
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 6 a( N3 W7 H4 L/ Y5 z" N9 a1 l

: O" t+ o9 }! e. q8 QThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
' ^8 r: x/ P2 x( H5 b  M: W•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;0 p8 M0 P0 p2 M
•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
8 O5 Q" z* H6 n0 a  W1 f' n& ?# y•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
- r7 T* y5 ~7 e, B% W; C: p  R•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; ' q! g6 l6 a" N7 y4 \4 ?# @) J7 A1 u
•        Risk Management and succession planning;, k9 L! O4 l+ q' V

3 f( l! c7 F4 ]- }) f0 W) \2 ~Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  
$ n) {0 m, i& S2 q/ S2 A3 P8 D: c•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;5 ^# U# o2 V: S1 W( V0 J/ a# S
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;& W/ p0 x' W5 [
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;7 K/ `- f( [) Z9 k) T' e& i9 X: t6 X6 q
•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
, g, g* s4 F9 R7 T# |•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
4 F: I. p! P4 O# J- ?' i•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
1 F  u0 x3 L! H" Z, t5 o/ p•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;8 V8 P' p$ L2 m! s. `0 [
•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;/ d$ z3 g7 ~+ e5 q5 {+ @

Qualifications:3 r  ^% Q6 D3 p4 z+ l  A
•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;" ?- x: a. }& p/ C
•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
8 t0 V7 b, C. m! D& P( f•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  7 a7 v& j; R: r& b2 n( u1 R9 ]
•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
7 C. R1 m( s3 i. n/ R) e•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
- l5 L0 Z5 K9 A1 F•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;- f- e# G7 w  L
•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
0 o* m# b/ V9 l& I5 f5 j•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
' [% x- w+ c7 Y•        Current valid drivers license;8 I4 c" P+ G8 s. |, f' l, L
•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;% A5 a& k! c9 Y
•        Conflict resolution skills;
# C# o, o0 ]7 [% U2 i* U•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
5 B! t% R; F9 V5 B2 Y•        Committed and passionate about children;
+ q. Y" B- @4 v# p) I8 m2 h9 L; V' ^( _6 c) v. r

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.# ?: W7 ?8 q, A
