To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)/ F" n, V! W4 S' k. S
# \. F- y4 e9 T; DAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
# \0 Y% O. S% r T% ]• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;# M( F: |1 H6 W5 X5 @3 F+ S% n* L
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
* D% o. x' c c) W4 C• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;9 [; n) p& f8 A- h. o$ g
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
@7 y( V0 _ m0 A• Risk Management and succession planning;8 U, x4 m" m) R2 A. o

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: 6 ?) e0 m7 _ j+ X0 h
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child; _9 y# K) v1 m, B' r% {1 U1 e6 Q
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
) r+ v) Q2 b! H6 M• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;" _% {1 F: b1 c8 [3 U( Z, R% W
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
7 a( I5 p/ Z& k6 R• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
+ P6 }% j: ]( }+ c. Y9 J/ x• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
; a7 a6 J0 m4 |7 q2 d5 k• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
' c# k( C$ x7 g- x9 m" D• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

; u: R* v+ n; [$ C• Degree in communications, human services or related field;% b% ?6 y) q/ K
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
0 r) h2 }" {3 t" R6 q8 x• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; 0 f8 \ ^' O% \' s5 @; M
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;+ h5 Z' s% X! j6 b) |. A
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
! L5 Q0 P/ T4 I# z$ W. f• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;9 z2 ?7 e) q$ d" Z5 e
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;5 ]! F, `7 I$ `; s M/ I" D8 m8 T
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;: p9 U/ q2 W8 g
• Current valid drivers license;: o8 n6 K' i: W: t
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;% `* l$ V8 s9 N8 a
• Conflict resolution skills;6 }" z) i$ T% j+ ^: d
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;1 o, f- h0 C+ G" [& [" P
• Committed and passionate about children;6 X& j2 \% P$ {& u
