Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project, n6 s9 U: H8 g$ ?# `

Job Purpose:, c) ~: l* t5 |+ p6 D4 q
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 0 N' y  b" L/ ]& Z* M5 T

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:! R* r; }* ~* k$ F: r
•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
5 H2 H4 E+ J) d* v•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
1 x: \' D, w$ {3 L- S0 F0 V' ~•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
4 j: s* \0 `% d9 @( l•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
. J- G+ ]+ N' l& h% n6 G•        Risk Management and succession planning;' o" R) g/ E0 ^! a

  R4 ~1 J" e4 p" @Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  7 }2 t4 j( G& N) m9 s  [5 V: S
•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;1 r3 Z, Y# D0 r/ Y0 [7 W" ~
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;7 ?8 n' J$ P& A& Y1 B. R8 L" I
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
( I3 ^; O, z! ~# e•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
5 v% u- v7 k( \+ {! @. A; P! s% m•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
7 `0 Y, P% P4 a9 C•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
, n/ g/ ?( C( s5 z( U" h& O•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
3 }, \4 M% G1 J# J' C•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;, j8 l/ w( F5 C+ n% _

$ B5 U7 k& ]5 [* mQualifications:4 ~6 ?8 f) f6 ^5 l
•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
+ Y* ^9 _: O8 u: ?. |•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
9 K7 ^) ~# I) |- q0 S  Y•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
& o7 i4 h+ M( g•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
" M3 v2 H* C# J: B8 k; f9 s2 d•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.- C7 o. i0 W. V. z
•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
0 b: N# i7 `0 m•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;$ ^! T6 r  [8 O! M
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
- l  E3 U# P6 x7 g  v•        Current valid drivers license;
7 S5 M* W" j. p2 ]7 y•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
4 M3 v$ K. E. B/ R# ~  ^•        Conflict resolution skills;9 X2 ?* q: r5 z. w
•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;0 q# v, G) ~& a: q# e4 L
•        Committed and passionate about children;

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.( z9 _% U: W5 |" _4 [
