Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project/ W. _( C# a4 T# ~8 O. v. G4 M

& W4 I) m3 ]3 k2 h( TJob Purpose:
2 z, p2 ^- u7 _4 }1 PTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

3 O( l/ G* b8 X/ a# W+ S" }) g. }This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)$ }1 Y" W/ X, m8 T* E

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
* q( z9 y+ p8 c" E3 F$ I) r6 b•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;- Q# T( t5 L% W  s* a4 N2 |9 j, o! ]
•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;- d8 h# {  l; o: ^' r- ^
•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;6 W! x! H6 q( X6 W1 g! |& c
•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; - T; h# q" k5 m( e9 K( W, q$ Q" @0 K
•        Risk Management and succession planning;
0 j4 b" ~, B  x7 K  z5 r+ [" x# L3 C4 c$ z
Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  
9 {  E# u- _* v•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;; V4 `- B3 |: A0 ~2 T
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;! k2 r2 N' S% H3 Z" j# c3 F
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
/ m: ^" T, k+ Y3 S& n3 B2 D3 v•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
9 j& N, ?, ^) T; N( H•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;: s% v& j/ q4 c# N
•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;0 _- ?" |2 R* Z* @; i: G- g9 @
•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;, b# {$ t8 s5 I
•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
* ^0 g7 a: a0 Y0 ]4 u$ K2 _/ ?2 d* O•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
# }8 {% `4 E6 ^•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
; p  Z: }- _& \& R6 J7 \$ ]. Q•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;    j4 U; Z3 N/ o- a
•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
! @. z9 O* E, Z1 n•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
1 [/ P% G  i9 r) O9 E) {•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;  p3 @6 X' j8 D! Z* s
•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;  u+ K+ g8 T6 E) E  v  p: B% }* M
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;% a# K0 O$ x% c5 U2 E
•        Current valid drivers license;0 n) O; d# P& `9 P
•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;1 b5 l4 w" k/ a
•        Conflict resolution skills;
$ u8 u. d$ a( W. Q# g- ~' t, ~•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;4 x8 c9 G8 [/ `
•        Committed and passionate about children;
