To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

# C" {& J) k( L# [, ?2 u0 cThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)6 O" X P% `& }# i! n2 Y

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:; n8 A& H( @' k2 Y" c' f+ c
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;6 W% P$ ~9 e) h/ `) `
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;$ x0 W- `: D F3 N$ i
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
6 _ @% z( _( y K% {- V• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
. T' L- Z+ O1 a4 H, M• Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: ! A. p* y" h" \) o
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
$ h) ~3 P3 n+ `7 w" J6 @• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
+ N: l! X3 i' i2 o( s* q• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
4 a! `# ]% x& ^• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
V$ w, |0 f% j/ m9 x• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;( j' V$ h" o5 H6 M$ v
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
& y2 d& S" ?# t, K7 @6 X• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
+ X. ]2 W0 Q) l2 w) m$ |6 @• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

• Degree in communications, human services or related field;. T0 j @. b' A& D3 C( H {: n
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
+ k# j) [* R1 |! N2 j$ L• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
4 c9 x+ z( m6 l& x' R6 L R/ m, J• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;# m0 b- W( L6 M
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
% q) S C7 ^' p& \+ p• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;1 d( r l; b9 b' ^$ B
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
' k( b' y ^ d4 N, G9 p• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
. v- Q2 L# N6 _& n• Current valid drivers license;! r- Q! G5 i- W) t3 M: t0 ^" Y
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;" z0 m0 O' Z- z4 `8 E* y
• Conflict resolution skills;
