Position Title: Community Development Worker

Key Responsibilities
: ?# u% c% b: v ~6 n) T- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community* I5 k) ^& P9 y- W9 L! X0 z+ h
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
! v1 t, N4 l, [- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services8 W. L$ F; @: g8 j: S
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
3 S; U1 s7 Q) p" B- G. e& ~- coordinate good will activities. j$ Q5 t3 H, E$ v% I9 J
- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members
8 O# y, V. \4 q' M0 [- submit information for community news
$ q/ g4 X E* `( a8 c- prepare and send AGM information to members3 t C, \9 t8 C% c; Q/ U/ U0 X
- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.
+ M( y, m1 k) i3 r" p* i) w( T- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
, s+ u9 B/ W8 I. A- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
+ X8 P, o- n# `9 \, l. L6 f5 `- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
) O, P% {* j* W$ U2 z) n- assist in writing proposal for ISP; X& l, F7 g% S
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP F1 w6 s, N( m% E( X; ^. q1 Y
- explore new ideas for ISP

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

Qualifications# y. w' Q7 \$ H# I3 o
- degree in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education 0 X1 z1 L" ?% r
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills1 ]8 _4 ]. z+ B+ h3 x d6 f0 u
- experience in community work and immigrant services* g2 e( t+ \0 N6 k3 t1 B T! J/ @+ _
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars r: g9 K9 Y2 d' X$ N7 C/ H( E
- leadership skills
