Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person2 m: z4 M. d/ ~ G o. _
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
* n3 A5 t7 {/ n• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately& }5 v7 A- \6 G9 h0 V
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter5 e' F; C( ^) B3 f
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents. Z. r' V, v) `& h9 E6 I" p
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker/ r1 ?# N( Y& P- W1 X2 S9 _
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
! C& H" }$ Q3 y T4 r, | P9 n4 h• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events( l: a- `* T. D) E% s6 ?# i) U, S
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean5 V$ P5 ~' }% A3 S4 E
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters, N& T2 |: U: w& F) y; Y: u
• Maintain front counter service files* l5 u+ L% t# `5 a7 x$ l
• Perform general office duties as assigned5 z2 d& C9 c$ l7 U
• Report to ISP Program Manager, i$ f$ D/ A K$ J: x2 o
, T+ l. g9 ]. s! X- V/ N& NKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
( ~8 q# F6 r9 _7 m( ?4 o3 T: `• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person X% V/ s/ s) f( }
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset6 m% w5 W" s( X5 Y P# |' S
• Good English writing and oral communication skills# G+ I. g6 f' J3 K _4 r/ |) ^
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
- ?* d% G* V& K9 g# [2 b• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook

• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds: h- Y3 M k* x4 p; p

Qualifications:
2 j+ T3 i/ n" C9 ^$ V; e• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
( Q% R3 I: @* N. r7 m' U. U& ]• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
( S, i$ ?: Y2 t( ]9 v( N) O3 h b& Z• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
