• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed, e" i/ n. V3 s/ b; a. q7 Z; v# s
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
$ ^) C$ _; {: ?9 e• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
7 W$ p+ v' r: p0 y3 S& _1 E• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
2 S: Q( w8 Q8 c! c% s• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
2 k& V2 E$ R" L3 k" e& Z• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
7 |. K9 Z" B' y5 w/ f• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools4 ^) U$ r8 C/ L/ Z( {5 C6 e% `
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
/ m9 t' Q/ I( p9 n• Mix paint, blend and match colors0 _8 ^- Z/ h2 `: l9 t; m
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns# i5 J2 k( l7 a( n# T- |( {
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs. Z( @( P+ ]. u
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation
6 P) {( I8 a. P5 D% I• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling
6 S0 D: w }1 X4 \Education and Experience Requirements:
$ t8 l1 N8 c& W; j+ _• Completion of secondary school is required
9 s9 {! z, g* p7 ?) W• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program

A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade - A( A( N% K5 y2 p
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory 2 L( j8 u4 @; [3 j$ @# M9 M
