Job Description:
$ z5 H# T( v% z+ k1 K• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
, B9 U+ }9 k! w- Q& v. ?9 \9 P• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
7 d k; A$ @8 q% R: W4 g3 S$ V. n% v• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers" `' Z# o! q7 f1 K& |
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams; o2 @- M& l1 Y* x
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
& k$ J& C6 Z2 i7 j+ Z6 n• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
1 w5 j# ^5 r# c) i• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools2 {. R* j1 ^- q5 H9 U& Q6 Z$ H
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
' W3 W6 s" [! U3 q! s' X+ L4 q• Mix paint, blend and match colors8 }- x& K# _5 n7 w" f4 C; |) I
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns5 E. z3 I; J2 |- _# p
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
# c0 N2 {! f$ a, s% E2 @• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation) K, Z- m. L, q! C
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling
+ J7 C% D, F ZEducation and Experience Requirements:9 N8 X3 C5 a/ m1 g0 B' S
• Completion of secondary school is required; U( `) ~+ e% v! i9 Y, ]4 b
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program # [0 t* |0 m( f! a

A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
- r2 Q8 n$ q1 w• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory ( V6 u# o. H7 n) e( D8 q$ J
