Job Title: Product Technology Manager, Lab Equipment         Date: October 13, 2011

Scope and Purpose of Job( z! ^  b/ N3 K; v- @; |7 _
Employee would be responsible for handling all technical support for Lab Equipment systems (both hardware & software), to include lab testing & dyeing, dispensing, sample conditioning, and lighting cabinets. Work as the technical liaison with 3rd party suppliers.  Work very closely with Product Manager on new product development for all laboratory equipment.$ v- U* @3 D* }, \1 X
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities
, B' d- Z# Y* l•        Be the global primary contact for support for Lab Equipment Systems and liaise with 3rd party supplier on any issues.3 w' G+ C: E3 o2 y& \  u
•        Answering all technical questions concerning mechanical functions and software operations.; r  s* `& D9 ]3 p+ ]  O' h
•        Assist with troubleshooting ideas on technical and software problems
0 d2 X6 O2 t+ \* q( ro        Test all new patch versions of software prior to release3 c7 w, D9 y! z: e5 H; Q
•        Assist where needed in application questions.% y+ q. B6 C$ m
•        Check all technical documentation for correctness prior to field distribution.9 ^& c* l. N8 Y" M
o        New parts and replacement parts and installation procedures# L* ]- ?& P; O4 D* v: h2 {% p, q
o        Translation to Chinese and other languages if needed
- E4 C  Y. h+ C# g•        Track and report all warranty failures; H5 Q. j4 ~) F/ A5 n& H
o        Make monthly report to Product Manager and 3rd party supplier.  O: [' B% U' k3 ]" m
o        Recommend remedy to improve product quality and design.
8 e0 p# M. x! _: s9 m•        Assist Product Manager in all new product development plans for all Lab Equipment products.  In some cases act as the Project Manager for new product development.
& j* {; q& ^- g9 o* K: v8 To        Run field Beta test sites and any new idea testing and make reports7 `2 }7 x) |2 h4 ]
o        Assist in information gather for any new product idea.
  J9 j3 @1 k% f  S' Do        Assist in writing and new product specification+ m( T. L; O6 l2 w' o! |
o        Point of expert contact for implementation of features/functions.# v: k* u. @0 P5 X$ S2 H
o        Act as technical applications expert on development team.% k1 A3 y, f% y, P* W
•        Assist in Sales support & training.
% O1 n1 Z* s' |5 ~2 m•        Responsible for any technical training needed for products, either given by the supplier or actually give the training in person.  To use both Web-based and on-site training tools./ e3 T- _7 q" {0 a% S; ~
o        In rare cases where no other solution exist to travel to customer site to solve technical issues.

# C& J+ g! o9 F7 S4 A( R5+ years working as technical specialist for textile laboratory equipment. Expereince with textile laboratory dispensers% B: D$ I4 q, ]) j$ G# X% l
List of Skills/Qualifications       
3 m" z( n% w% A! I- i  q9 N•        Must have an extensive background in textile laboratory equipment uses and workflow process.  Understanding of textile dyeing processes.
# J: l/ F5 K# T9 R, Z•        Background knowledge of dispensers and software
6 A5 q) w( _/ x' M•        Proficient in software use and writing.; Y: I; Z1 }0 y% b  Y9 G0 p/ s4 i
