Hours of Work: Part-time (10 hours per week)

8 K: J/ M6 \/ N: mPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. 6 |: X: |; Q% N/ [5 W' u# A

# N  `4 e. Y6 h8 R8 mKey Responsibilities:
& m8 p8 o! f% g& K•        Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person9 b( Z" K7 l! n% C5 k- ~" d4 r, m5 k
•        Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST. f# ~8 ?9 u# m1 R4 ~. a. R
•        Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
5 A6 M7 t+ A9 e% N& u•        Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
; L" j2 \: ]+ D+ G•        Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings
& @' t- R, E' T8 u•        Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
/ S! M( h% H: y, Q4 D! N7 P  d, n•        Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
& I1 U% A' n7 N- s* E•        Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
0 O# ~( V+ q% r" M" b•        Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events! D7 V; t; e! j# L1 P8 ?
•        Keep the reception area tidy and clean% ]0 x  U/ \; w; x6 U1 y
•        Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters
7 v' K* W1 X& [( u* s+ X•        Maintain front counter service files, H% p5 E) k7 d9 d0 U1 C% k' _
•        Perform general office duties as assigned+ o/ _% P, n1 P: l0 t- O1 \( R* A* v) w
•        Report to ISP Program Manager

* }# w! A- x0 B: h* G5 }, G2 QKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
) r0 m; ~2 [, t- y* y! T( x•        Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person7 Z: |  [7 I8 |" _" i0 @
•        Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
$ v' B& x) b$ W. W6 F•        Good English writing and oral communication skills
0 P  \& n0 r  J' b1 Q•        Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
% E* W' |6 T: f: y8 M: s•        Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook7 [7 H  [; S- Y4 ^
•        Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately - z* z. o' z6 o3 I- p# d
•        Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds
6 q: ]* N: v+ m- j2 n- h: W$ w7 m•        Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment8 o2 M3 g/ E, I! U1 Z8 C
•        Knowledge of immigrant services
: c( r% N1 h& ~Qualifications:
$ o. m- A6 Z& k- M•        2-4 years of office and clerical experience ( X1 [0 M/ S$ E$ D+ Y
•        Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment. {0 E! P: U, i2 i- C
•        Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
+ r( \5 q( ^* R9 M•        Ability to work well under minimal supervision
$ ?+ ?- G" e: N4 i& c5 A. J5 G6 W- K6 n
