* J# A0 I# N  tYWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position.  The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.
6 f( n" w" t( J2 L6 ~) r7 K9 p1 D* y( qJob Responsibilities:

) l0 G+ Y1 X9 a* Z6 l* b6 V& KPayroll:
7 C- X; m# }9 f7 m  n•        Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired$ v$ L4 K' p9 g9 [; w
•        Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll, I3 `7 \7 y" N4 b- G2 P* ?& B
•        Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
- s( b$ U. U1 F7 |; p5 p•        Input benefit deductions into payroll# |8 y. d" o6 T) @9 P

& W* ]. O0 \+ {5 Q: O2 W) k; cReporting duties:
5 @! i/ J3 S2 o! W' @' i•        Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
/ d- |9 m8 c/ y# e9 `# T•        Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website3 v3 [; T/ T) X3 O, J1 u
•        Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s5 r6 o: f* e0 R2 k8 a
•        Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority
" e; @! P2 [* G4 D4 m•        Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

* K& r' m; @2 H& L+ z; q" U$ U, W' z- aCompliance:& P6 v# n7 u: y& o
•        Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll 7 T+ \0 i, n+ ~9 Y; j% P5 F* S
•        Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.# H0 R6 q- M; v) T( U
•        Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
$ I( `, \7 N& b•        Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting! U/ H1 {# [9 _. r) o

( q. Z% M9 u  v2 P1 AAccounts Receivable:
* h8 ]1 u" L) y•        Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
2 H2 J: p. s# g•        Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department/ _2 N; T# l' \7 [9 Q
•        Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments$ H) K5 V) N- ^% h) ^
•        Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing. ?; B& ]( x* v8 y; u5 q

Qualifications:
. ?2 m1 E$ T! B4 d, W& K
# e7 ?1 Q9 U, \5 C8 p' j•        Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
& K- {6 w! \' r, C2 i0 n•        Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
! t9 I3 e4 n5 Y( H( q/ P1 k•        Minimum  2 years experience in a payroll related position" E+ h' b# F% R
•        Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office$ t% ?6 q: n- P
•        Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work
8 Y* K7 S( X* T) v•        Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure' y! i6 O5 v  V" U/ k; C: y
•        Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures
! i# I4 T& A# q0 X* I# I2 j, z0 a- ?
