/ }3 d5 u0 [* K" a, @/ RYWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.

• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired& |% G# H/ D6 J) d
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
) c: l( t0 v- i; u• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
, O, o9 q$ W! x' M6 [: P- a• Input benefit deductions into payroll
* h) P2 z; d2 {: M/ e& t5 J- y4 V5 q
Reporting duties:
' q+ e) M. p: R# c c• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
Y p2 n2 i5 I! N7 ]9 i• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
, j$ M6 T) C4 u4 n- W. ?• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
; r% q, {" u1 U. E. `• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority% j. V3 c* E% @( o. N! W- n0 m
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

Compliance: h! l" k+ h- f: Z6 W2 J* O+ ]3 Y( \6 z
• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
* s; ?* C: C6 l @• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
8 w& o2 u7 K8 T! C0 h; i* t• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies, S0 n P+ v; [
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting6 I Q, N' {- J% E! h

Accounts Receivable:
3 ]/ E8 q8 D0 \& _$ M5 ^• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit8 F G% P, }! Z4 J0 q( @7 G
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department: b1 v" {; s. q
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments- v; N3 }4 Z7 E' r4 ~1 E% a5 p( w
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing4 D* B8 g( w4 J6 q0 Z8 K0 j
/ B9 j( N# o5 ]+ j7 X- vQualifications:+ h9 O) ^+ x: F7 e& x9 z- g
w) M# d6 ~2 D) I2 _• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
! x/ D. q; c% I• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
$ D- K: G1 d% f/ ]• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
% P5 n4 Z8 a5 n5 K$ U• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office

• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure6 Z8 u k! K) n9 A! @; A( K/ X
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures
