1. It's cool:cool
(可指人或事物)也就是 something good or acceptable;situation is under control;being calm, gentle, courteous or good-looking;meet teen's standard. 所以可以说:
9 Z0 x( B) ^7 S5 t& _, U" b, j  X
1 ]6 `/ e( T& P2 |  That's cool;he is cool;this is cool.
5 t* |1 N( \# H+ r7 o% O
3 D8 W% d8 R/ t' [  Skydiving (或surfing) is cool.(跳伞或冲浪运动很不错)0 p# f) x7 n4 o3 t3 m. X7 T9 c

9 {& j+ U3 D4 u' j  主词可用任何人称的单复数 (I, we, they 等),动词可用 verb to be 的任何时态 (is, was, were, will be, have been等)。
5 P* @( z2 ~# A# L' {1 H
  She (He) was cool in the past.
! Y: ^8 n7 s- D; F
' v7 y5 d2 c% ?% k) o; k. G# }# C  That's a cool T-shirt.(好看的运动衫)
8 z6 c) k- o5 m" @! X4 e- u8 R; I6 i* f3 p
  He (she) is a cool person.(文雅礼貌的人)
+ o( m! {* q5 s, s0 F1 a! p8 Z& u& F3 |" |5 g  c
  但是如果说:Are you cool? 假如说:  X  Z7 ^/ F+ H0 j1 j+ [3 A

- W/ @  i8 \8 S4 C  She looks as cool as a cucumber. 又是恭维语,是说她很 calm and charming; not
* s# p* l/ \: c& g# h
! w4 |" j% Y$ N8 c1 \9 I$ \, g1 F  emotional. 但为何用黄瓜 (cucumber) 代表,则不得而知。; E- U& l% Z2 e( i0 P% F; m

  f* u2 W) d. p0 ^8 j  c( {  (注:许多华人把 cool 译成「很酷」); Z: r  I9 h9 l" q( u

. A/ r7 u# b* F* S, F) D5 K2 |  2. Are you trippin'?:trippin' 这个字,是由动词 trip 演变而来。 这个字是现在分词当形容词用,是指行为异乎寻常,也许受到吸毒或喝酒的影响,而显得神魂颠倒、奇形怪状(to get high on drug such as LSD),也就是说:要不是受到药、酒的影响,你为什 显得这样古怪呢?(Are you under any influence of drug or alcoholic? Why are you so crazy and bizarre?) 所以可以说:7 E% j  A' z. S$ s6 n( v

9 B& V) \" b4 _5 y# ?7 [  They are trippin'. (= tripping)  x/ v* f4 Z( i* X/ ^

* W- c& T' Y! k6 Q/ b8 s  She (he) is trippin'.
' e- S" x+ `* ?1 Z: X9 _2 F( B3 q: S0 `, i/ }
  Mr. A must be trippin'.
, M5 i& B4 P/ n4 N+ J
n7 C9 p9 E0 ^) m) T! N& K5 w
9 D5 K  l5 z+ z8 O6 c' r
  3. He is a nerd:nerd (A person always buries his nose in books, but not good at social situations.) (IQ = Intelligence Quotient ; EQ = Emotional Quotient) nerd 可用复数,动词也能用其他时态。
# m* r9 m7 y+ w! @# E2 V* f9 Y# `/ \& D, b' `
  He used to be a nerd in high school.
2 y' O. |2 A2 V  r
( r1 t$ _, D8 U5 Y; Y1 _4 o  Many Chinese students are(或 have been)considered nerds.- |+ x' U* h1 w; M
2 i5 s6 |4 P& x8 D# X# ?1 S& u
# v2 R9 n# g% Z2 G( D+ b( l. V
  He is a computer geek. (意思是:虽然他是书呆子,但电脑很棒)7 L6 D. S, r, B4 y
1 \. x: p9 q% w; r
. u6 m. C' i1 s  ]$ x1 I
7 g" K# S, F/ i1 K' }  I don't like him because he is a jerk.
5 W; ?  D3 R! Y6 L$ n( W1 p+ `  U/ e1 K/ D6 Y( X
7 }, I" _! i) p0 A1 ~" y( T+ ~
  Many jerks are working in our company.3 {5 `0 N: `! ?# A, ]5 h7 G1 D; x
6 o# Y8 ]9 a1 g  @5 c3 p1 d1 {! |9 f
7 u  H0 w" ~; R5 \* C
  They are jerks; He was a jerk in the past; Mr. A has been jerk for years.3 T' t7 J) S" J1 c* @, z" k& x

* B5 x+ p* [7 E9 U6 j  A1 y  (注:有时年轻人也用 dork 这个字,但不如 jerk 流行)
+ W7 b% g/ Q/ _3 N9 P& t3 b: \" w5 ]. t9 O; [
(He thinks she is pretty and attractive, so he wants to speak to her.),也就是找话题,想要「打开话匣」。(to use as a form of opening line or pick-up line or to begin a greeting; try to know her or date her) 如果说:2 I- u; w. I+ {3 @% S
4 N/ h! J. n  A
  Yo baby, are you trippin'?
诸如:6 a  w; k) O$ C6 _- ~, c% v0 q6 t

8 _& ?' Z- a+ l8 {% s2 T% ^  May I help you with something? I think I have met you somewhere before., ?0 h/ r, \% ]- a9 y( j) Z
2 t3 I4 t& `% ~& y  \- H8 z' q
[8 d3 i. @1 `
+ X( V; @5 \1 `' v% {
  Hey, hey, hey, what's going on?“what is going on?”就是年轻黑人打招呼的用语 (a form of greeting or open statement) 或 Hey, hey, hey, are you going to the movie?(帅哥,你是去看电影吗?)2 L+ g, l4 b5 w8 V2 s2 x

# A1 M- Z& P* t" j  5. Catch you later!这是年轻人说「再会」的口语。(a form to say“good乡bye”) 也就是说:现在没有时间与你交谈,以後再谈吧!(I don't have time to talk with you now, but we can talk later.) 因此,catch 就是 talk 或 contact 的意思。catch 後面,也可用其他人称代名词(him, her, them 等)
. ]( R. R6 y& g1 u. |/ m& S4 y( {6 p) d  B* T$ d
  有时年轻小伙子也用:I am off. I am leaving now; I'll talk to you again.7 l& U7 E/ e! s+ Z2 A; j7 G+ F6 {: w
" |- ?: t, V2 N2 f9 ^
