1. It's cool:cool
(可指人或事物)也就是 something good or acceptable;situation is under control;being calm, gentle, courteous or good-looking;meet teen's standard.
, u. z/ V! _) S# C- W  c* o
  That's cool;he is cool;this is cool.
+ p  D4 y- T6 v4 R1 s+ P0 u, i
  Skydiving (或surfing) is cool.(跳伞或冲浪运动很不错)
' q1 D$ A. j: A, N! c- U5 {" {' {4 A4 x8 g8 S
  主词可用任何人称的单复数 (I, we, they 等),动词可用 verb to be 的任何时态 (is, was, were, will be, have been等)。
' @* h3 x% f8 o
She (He) was cool in the past.
, R( |3 q3 m1 X9 t$ P. \7 I3 t7 B& P  a: V8 o. r8 X/ L
  That's a cool T-shirt.(好看的运动衫)! j7 W0 Q6 |' }. G
% v! P, I; G& g. Y- A+ F
  He (she) is a cool person.(文雅礼貌的人)6 d, t; E; [  \2 b

2 h* u9 g$ F2 P' X8 s 但是如果说:Are you cool?
; @% k9 o  D( u( W
' k2 l. L# E, E; R0 q$ T8 Q She looks as cool as a cucumber. 又是恭维语,是说她很 calm and charming; not
- n5 o" D6 s) s. G5 l3 r* k; W
; _# p  l; u# ~/ i. x, _) { emotional.
/ X4 l) D/ K7 s+ N5 o# Y$ `! x9 i/ b0 Y) ]
  (注:许多华人把 cool 译成「很酷」)4 V+ S* w* a% y8 q( d
3 ]8 h$ B  M, u
  2. Are you trippin'?:trippin' 这个字,是由动词 trip 演变而来。 这个字是现在分词当形容词用,是指行为异乎寻常,也许受到吸毒或喝酒的影响,而显得神魂颠倒、奇形怪状(to get high on drug such as LSD),也就是说:要不是受到药、酒的影响,你为什 显得这样古怪呢?(Are you under any influence of drug or alcoholic? Why are you so crazy and bizarre?)
* Z: r' y8 b/ @: ]# U
, Z* n* Q- I" S+ Z, {  p They are trippin'. (= tripping)6 M" ~" x  q5 ?. @& X3 E

& \. q: I: k( x She (he) is trippin'.
' ~) n% Z* b/ H" u2 F
2 b& T7 }; b+ a: M3 `- v# Z0 {; N9 ?3 O Mr. A must be trippin'.
0 B( e4 x1 N2 d  Q/ \* c: b% R9 A4 D( u& [
( E) H8 ]& K+ [; c( N3 E( P
- B3 c  u" g, W  w: m+ B
  3. He is a nerd:nerd (A person always buries his nose in books, but not good at social situations.) (IQ = Intelligence Quotient ; EQ = Emotional Quotient) nerd 可用复数,动词也能用其他时态。
- ]) g" [3 y1 F4 `0 H9 n
# x! r" K% d1 R6 O) }) }* K  P# n He used to be a nerd in high school.
# [' p# m) T& [2 T+ E' w" i$ e
( I5 O. j' s3 N, Y Many Chinese students are(或 have been)considered nerds.! w0 a) u& m+ d) S. l7 Z

# g: C% ^) b5 r!
; Z2 m$ b4 C5 a+ c; C8 y9 ]
' U1 b" d1 c4 p5 l He is a computer geek.
, X$ w6 \- G8 d% ^1 n; c0 I
K) d: [7 l1 I5 o

6 y# j; A+ X% j+ d I don't like him because he is a jerk.- b% b, _5 t# P# t7 X3 a+ S; z
+ Q7 u! n5 D0 @0 @2 G  T- }
/ n; r8 S3 V9 W# U/ P- B
2 n! Q6 K7 Y- w3 U Many jerks are working in our company.6 R" B2 d6 X2 t. L0 m7 J- e6 e

) b* p% M: A3 g
1 i4 O' B$ }8 e' Z2 v They are jerks; He was a jerk in the past; Mr. A has been jerk for years.+ W$ m+ C& ?" ?: J% ~4 W
- b4 k# `4 O0 V+ R! K
(He thinks she is pretty and attractive, so he wants to speak to her.),也就是找话题,想要「打开话匣」。(to use as a form of opening line or pick-up line or to begin a greeting; try to know her or date her) 如果说:9 Q" m% r* y9 l" P7 p

& \0 E4 @4 _4 J/ q7 H$ A9 t Yo baby, are you trippin'?

1 G0 _9 U( Q  \! Y6 [
9 ]+ r3 n$ R* Q  E& P9 c* m May I help you with something? I think I have met you somewhere before.( |4 L3 K* z8 \1 X7 k* ]8 w  v

% |% M: B3 d  l  |! ~
9 ?. D+ G8 J3 ^" Q7 p+ ], T) I Hey, hey, hey, what's going on?“what is going on?”就是年轻黑人打招呼的用语 (a form of greeting or open statement) 或 Hey, hey, hey, are you going to the movie?(帅哥,你是去看电影吗?)
1 E/ N0 ^! Q! K9 ^
7 x  U" E/ b: y. W8 I7 H 5. Catch you later! (a form to say“good乡bye”) 也就是说:现在没有时间与你交谈,以後再谈吧!(I don't have time to talk with you now, but we can talk later.) catch 後面,也可用其他人称代名词(him, her, them 等)
) z- S% M0 x; O7 V& U7 k# S1 r# _4 Q2 X& ?
  有时年轻小伙子也用:I am off. I am leaving now; I'll talk to you again.& a( U+ f3 t4 f2 O( @: g7 ^, f
0 S1 n; L$ P( l0 |0 h4 T: m
