1 Q; e$ h$ J* s O+ kSEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. : h$ `% ?9 N" c4 _6 Y& J% W# K
SEDI is staffed to:

• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners ' S g5 ~8 ?- ^/ I
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation 3 r1 x# H+ C% f
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
1 N l, B0 R+ M8 p/ ^! j* u5 H9 i• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
, F9 ?0 U$ G2 o7 ~& {• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
7 _* e1 Y5 I0 [* A& u% t. L• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) 2 A# Y2 ]9 h; R$ n4 F3 @$ b! u8 t3 a2 E
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required # _* ]5 T4 O4 i
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities

+ a9 `* ]8 I/ e3 D4 m2 C0 y; y* Y• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

' U1 j! a4 n I: S• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies " ^/ v) X: i. j+ L. l# t% J
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners 5 S; p: z: v( `, `+ w1 e
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
, j1 Y: c I9 e) r• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
/ g6 B; D8 F3 @7 l; O" \+ t• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning ' v6 y& @" J; @3 m1 c2 M. P
Primary Qualifications:
- W6 n1 |, u8 a1 ^• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
* p9 K0 K3 d+ q8 y+ Q2 P+ n• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
. d5 K# _. N" h# j. ?• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training 7 ?' y; R4 P. U) X' y2 ?
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
5 I- V7 f# s( Z( _+ ?• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams % {5 H1 t F& V
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals 4 N! A% W2 L* N: K8 P
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts 2 |$ a# n. k+ k) @6 s( H* m. C8 C
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them 7 s# O( f6 X- ]; F6 L
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc

• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. * k; k, V) ?# ]3 R3 ~" C
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset

This is a full time contract position for 1 year based out of our Toronto office with the possibility of extension.
