SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. 8 S8 m- ]0 L# E. p" C
SEDI is staffed to: 5 l% P" T+ G0 D8 F: h' `! r z
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
8 S0 e4 x' S! E; q# Y$ Y. p• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
2 v% p4 P* Q" ]: U- z/ K• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
7 s% @: O! P+ ^' c/ I4 a• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs 4 Q" t1 `* y6 F) `: c
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
+ V5 s$ ?/ I& \9 y• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses # y) `+ X7 O+ D3 d8 M
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada
# x U3 F* P% n8 Y- X; ^* `Primary Responsibilities and Activities: 4 i8 r% C/ c3 y) ^
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
& v# G+ V( H6 L6 r( u+ j) R• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
; U" y& r. T$ O/ Y• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required 8 o; [6 g$ J( |
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities r' b0 V) L& S# ~4 A1 E
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
8 j$ w6 B4 J/ D+ D$ W' Z• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
( E3 m5 e- l9 Q7 c& ]! u• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
0 j/ I: i, } M# Q• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting 5 n8 }4 G4 C: U w% N
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
5 [) {/ Q* g: k" g* c) E" P, B" O• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
1 T+ B* g% q" T+ Q7 y! @- W( u• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media ; `8 z9 }8 f8 O) b/ s6 q
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training : p+ d2 } a0 ^" e9 S3 |
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities + A# t4 e3 i* v9 q" P; \
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams

• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts 9 P' ^5 k! S! a. S, x9 m3 X2 B) f/ m
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
2 K8 r# }5 b; e( w) }+ X• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc
