SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. 5 k" e, @1 h! {7 b: L* |, N- [" P
SEDI is staffed to: + J1 s/ U; A, q z7 L; m
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research 9 P. g) r6 f! x* i" M3 j$ S
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners - s9 e9 I# i8 L( i5 c2 h! H
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation 1 @: j+ j' z! A* S5 X2 [8 r$ H" E; {
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
! {( D0 A' a4 ~, K- {6 e/ S9 D- u) ~' B• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits # n+ d; d9 L3 e# g+ A" v
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

% U5 g/ O9 p: x! _Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
+ y3 k2 `2 c2 T( D1 p1 h• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada 7 x6 e5 o/ a+ X; m& s7 e+ e4 o5 \( V
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
4 l0 X2 p" `; c! F2 S5 V• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
2 ]1 H; e2 b+ g, b$ y( R• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities 3 @* L' \) m( C; K5 l
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
5 W+ H0 h! K6 h3 W; E, F• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required - F, x# `+ H4 N9 ?* d3 e+ {8 Z
Other Activities:
6 Z- R, a, _1 D% u* P• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies ) K6 Y- v( Y7 F2 u
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners : }, m- M- C1 a0 u
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
S) p. [$ `6 g( G& l• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports ) D8 Z g9 U' c# p5 I+ R
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning
5 `- d3 p H9 oPrimary Qualifications: 9 A3 w2 q5 @# J6 X ?
• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
. N( ~6 O9 G, v; N" p: V& J• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media , i+ L1 T( W, g; _- j5 Y
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training 4 r7 @' c; X3 Y* U
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
( a: R* ?7 I3 d% \• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams 2 M5 C' }3 @5 f! p( \
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals 4 L' a( `/ y0 H- f( ^
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
# o( F2 }* G o$ W0 I$ s• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them 3 X( k2 Y- O/ x+ \1 t' h/ b4 g
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc

• Content / curriculum development experience , W1 `5 F7 ^7 j+ @
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners ! o! r S/ C# A
• Excellent organizational skills % X( e, w% y8 M% h8 j o a$ f7 R
• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.
9 g/ x4 h: \9 [" U• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset - @4 p& L( s3 o' P m5 A
• Policy research skill set is an asset
