In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.

SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. . n' `8 J) n- H# {; _& m
SEDI is staffed to: , k6 [+ M$ z" w# O
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research ( V C5 \; q( ~/ Z
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners k8 E7 }4 E) ~0 `+ T0 k
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation * f* |/ R9 V$ K+ }# M0 ~3 D x5 I2 z
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
. G& t, k% e2 a• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
; u, K2 P0 _; N' M) J c• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
7 Z3 c: j% x' `1 x4 W' n6 T• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
: d a/ d8 o: J! J: t• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required 8 ?% L7 P; q0 i5 a6 M0 }6 L; X
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
. d t7 g6 w. F u( e• Working with evaluation and management information systems team 1 {' Q' h9 G: G
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners ! D6 o; ~: |! w# r3 Q
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
4 d& V$ E/ M: q6 ?# A- r# C• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports 7 ~2 F, B- _' J% _3 b# e
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning ! n+ v4 Z$ Y& H. e! V6 C+ d
Primary Qualifications:
; @% w e$ Y+ P3 Q• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
5 _7 j8 L1 P3 y# Z: @4 x) f• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
( F7 R/ p! ?( n• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training $ K/ @0 j" ~1 D! t7 r Q, _' k
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
7 D1 R) M g6 K2 d• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams

A! J) N E. I4 b4 R1 I* c• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc

• Excellent organizational skills
