The Edmonton Chinese Bilingual Education Association (ECBEA) and the Chinese Graduates Association of Alberta (CGAA) are seeking volunteers to help out at the Chinese Pavilion during the 36th Annual Edmonton Heritage Festival 2011. Come out for a day of fun and sun, meet people from all over the globe, and best of all, come celebrate Chinese culture, l6 V$ c3 o7 ^; a5 J

Who can help?
- p! T) g6 ] T4 t2 Q5 k3 p$ DAnyone can! No experience is needed, and on-site training will be provided to all. This is
; d+ K4 u) T& |" Han excellent opportunity for students to earn volunteer credit. (Age 14 and over8 F3 ^4 H2 j0 f) U
preferable, under age 14 requires parent/guardian supervision).- o# K$ |1 l1 P* y O' s, @

What will volunteers be doing?

 Demonstrate and sell Chinese arts/crafts- _" m3 X) W% X7 B7 K
 Serve food and drink to festival visitors9 Q9 b: i' a( y! T
 Food/drink preparation/transportation
- O. I1 I& E1 ~1 h; ] Entertain visitor with fortune telling game- g0 H9 ]2 P2 D2 R
 Demonstrate and write Chinese calligraphy2 a$ j7 |* }( [( z6 ?4 M- j! P2 l
 Run the sound system for stage performers, MC if needed
& }" l, p& ^5 i& C5 }3 ^$ j9 y Help out with miscellaneous tasks around the site

 Transport volunteers/equipment to the festival site(Age 25+ with valid Alberta

 Teach visitors to speak some Chinese, any dialect
9 R8 D( [: M- S+ ?- v Perform at the Chinese Pavilion Stage e.g. singing, dancing, hip hop, drumming,
1 V- B8 c2 k# q# qplaying musical instruments etc.0 m+ L4 { V T* c* [" F9 G! W! u
 Demonstrate various Chinese artistic cultural skill e.g. painting, drawing, crafts,
% J" s& r6 t; M/ W3 pdough arts, playing Chinese yo yo, etc.
% K) I8 {* D! L+ [ a, N Play or demonstration a cultural sport/act on stage e.g. acrobats, martial arts,& m5 l3 p0 X! y# L6 n
clowning, acting etc. --- Performers are welcome!
