 Marketing, promotion and direct placement of clients to employers.

Resource Room Advisor/Resume Writer
0 A! A. g1 ]  x- M" i7 B6 W Provide ongoing positive encouragement and support to clients accessing the Resource Centre.
( }$ i  ~4 p) B6 m% F8 p& b& U Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met.
! o5 j" |5 V) O2 [' f" Y: | Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.
6 _$ A/ z! B) W6 `) Q0 Z" N4 D) f, \ Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.  c! D# |: G6 n7 V5 t
 Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.
& T9 a- K7 r! k6 ]4 L Update and maintain job boards.
7 b9 f' e1 y$ m4 o Be required to work flexible hours, with some evening and occasional weekend work

 Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.

 Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.* ^5 s( E; d% m0 x
 Encourage independence and self determination in newcomers( N# P2 O' l4 W* T, y! [- K+ l* N0 G
 Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
+ i7 M0 l: O6 |9 N; g Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.
4 T; a5 T; H( b$ h9 _' y2 r' m) B4 t Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.

 Keep up-to-date all other administrative tasks as directed by the Program Co-ordinator.

Assessment Officer: s& @: [) K8 b
 Responsible for intake, orientation and completion of workability assessments.& u* T% a9 Y8 O% T8 K0 g) p
 Deliver program overview to potential clients, as well as other interested parties.
/ G& U( l6 t/ s9 f+ u% j9 j Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.
8 n% J; s7 g8 Y6 O3 o+ Q: N Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.
% {) r* I' I7 U: I7 r: K% @& X" Q Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.
6 X6 T/ n0 T" ?' r1 a9 x Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan.
. D7 S" v8 z  o$ y, C) d Create and update clients files on Mobius computer system

 Ensure participants’ progress is tracked and recorded

 Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment
" @( [- B: L0 d) {$ h: W6 C9 i Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada

 Complete participant reviews with the participants/ Y1 }% o/ A  x, o1 t
 Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion
/ Y% B  R( k8 z& a, c, ^ Perform other duties as assigned by manager/coordinator
