 Marketing, promotion and direct placement of clients to employers.

 Provide ongoing positive encouragement and support to clients accessing the Resource Centre.
4 s; @1 U- C2 G: x* X8 @; _1 I Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met.# r! V. d" a! d2 d
 Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information./ H  ~# d5 ~& [2 q, H# d( b5 O+ [
 Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.
/ Z+ s8 u: C" e Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.

Settlement Counsellor
; g) S6 h& ~; F: M3 A: M- A- r. w Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.

 Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.9 Y, U. `# t4 }
 Encourage independence and self determination in newcomers
, G3 D0 R0 P; u8 ~2 e! r Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.0 N, s; m( D: n
 Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.
/ K, z( w1 g; n6 f Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.
: V( n1 a3 A% X' u6 d  h8 O4 ~ Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements.

 Attend multi-agency and multidisciplinary meetings, as required

 Deliver program overview to potential clients, as well as other interested parties.
1 r* `8 ?3 o2 r( q2 D Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment./ _2 t! ]% H0 V
 Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.3 s8 |2 a. G# l4 g* w9 V3 J
 Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.
3 [. d; a4 G! ?+ |% s& N Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan.% S: n+ E# l8 v" O% r2 ^7 r, [0 J
 Create and update clients files on Mobius computer system

 Interact with participants on a continuous basis so that the Service Plan progress can be monitored throughout the program and into the follow up period

 Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan7 H: v, K" Z' x  w, E
 Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment
* i% Q8 j  s, K! D. v+ h Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada0 X/ H  \, r9 ?
 Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants
& u2 F5 q; d! t! m+ H Complete participant reviews with the participants
6 J0 V  M7 r! [ Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion+ m8 M  p  L% i) h: |- K
 Perform other duties as assigned by manager/coordinator
