Position Profile Heavy Duty Mechanics inspect, service, and maintain diesel locomotives in accordance with federal and company regulations.2 n# s" F1 V) t" z

Diagnosing diesel engine malfunctions and making indicated repairs

Providing daily locomotive maintenance that includes changing oil or repairing, replacing, cleaning and adjusting parts " T; o9 j4 `4 p2 R

9 ?: I) e3 P4 w, p; {. h' IVisual acuity and hearing threshold tests are required for this position. Written pre-employment tests to become a Machinist Apprentice are required for this position. Completion of 3-year apprenticeship is required to become a Journeyman Machinist. This position is subject to night, weekend and holiday work hours when needed.
