就算是VW自己人拍的，那些软软的FENDER也是真的吧。俺以前在TOYOTA的时候就实在受不了TOYOTA的FENDER，从YARIS 到TUNDRA，都是那么软，跟可乐罐一样。我最怕看见顾客驱按FENDER和车门了。。。。别跟我说那是要吸能，从AUDI到NEON也都吸能，咋就不那么软呢。

Soft fender is good for safety and repair. Some components need to be soft, like your seat cushion, like airbag, like the fender.

As far as safety is concerned, Corolla was safer than Neon. In general, Toyota are safer than Chrysler in almost every category.

Lexus and Audi are about the same in safety.

It just doesn't matter. The collision membrane is a thin metal bar hidden inside. You will never be able to feel it.

Focus on crash rating and death rate.

per million registered car-year, the death rate for Corolla is 93, the death rate for Neon is 154. All Japanese cars beat all American cars. The safest is Civic at 67 (if you exclude Infiniti G20 because it's a luxury car).

这事争论很久了，我是搞不清楚。
我有一辆日本车，一辆德国车，每次开德国车的时候就感觉踏实，日本车虽然是个Crossover，但开起来总感觉不太踏实，所以哪天有闲钱了，一定把它也换成德国车。最近身边的朋友发生了几起车祸，让我认识到神马油耗、故障率都是浮云，安全才是第一。

油耗差别不会太大，一旦出现紧紧情况。虽然大家都不希望出现，最大的差异就出来了。我是最喜欢用youtube输入车的型号，然后看crash test ，正面、侧面、柱子的全部都看，虽然都是五星的，但是仔细看就会发现差异还是很明显的。
