Develops and updates the graphic user interface including program interface (menus, dialogue boxes, file editing, etc.) using C++ or Java or other languages to allow users to compose run scripts and edit input files for a FORTRAN model
( M" U# N( A+ b' Z  o' r+ YGenerates dynamic visualization of numerical output from the model using VTK or other visualization tools, linked to explanatory documents
3 a' F, k: d$ l6 CWorks with staff in the MACI to determine ways to deal with the data and find innovative approaches of presenting results
6 r4 E+ z, B0 p0 e& S) r$ nImplements interface and visualization on portable media (CD and website) for use in research and teaching; implements the mathematical model "ecosy" in parallel mode on computing facilities available
8 J$ {( R* g) D, y  s5 tProvides technical support to teaching initiatives at undergraduate and postgraduate levels using the mathematical model with the graphic user interface
) p% f4 x6 C- V) ?; OInstalls software and provides user support; liaises with users to enable their productive use of the software

1 g0 B; g& f  m& q4 C  j1 MB.Sc. in Computing Science with specialization in interface development
* p% @) P( `4 j' _1 ARelated experience with interface development; interest in terrestrial ecology and global climate change an asset
, {; E1 B1 m2 y8 F$ L/ t, nProgramming in C++ and Unix, website development and maintenance
