Develops and updates the graphic user interface including program interface (menus, dialogue boxes, file editing, etc.) using C++ or Java or other languages to allow users to compose run scripts and edit input files for a FORTRAN model" ` Y* c2 Z. C& b& Z3 ]
Generates dynamic visualization of numerical output from the model using VTK or other visualization tools, linked to explanatory documents
5 [* ?8 u) w" T* s* oWorks with staff in the MACI to determine ways to deal with the data and find innovative approaches of presenting results
) i; T3 y* s" Q4 `) O: d/ J6 sImplements interface and visualization on portable media (CD and website) for use in research and teaching; implements the mathematical model "ecosy" in parallel mode on computing facilities available
) O: x0 S2 Z8 b- {/ b' E! vProvides technical support to teaching initiatives at undergraduate and postgraduate levels using the mathematical model with the graphic user interface

Qualifications
7 o( I$ M) Z7 xB.Sc. in Computing Science with specialization in interface development* m/ L8 X( x% }8 _) r6 C
Related experience with interface development; interest in terrestrial ecology and global climate change an asset3 T- l$ k7 w0 I3 M6 p$ f
Programming in C++ and Unix, website development and maintenance6 p; c+ z' k# ^8 l7 k0 T
