Responsibilities

2 _9 ]* K# G9 u& `; y Proactively and independently develop initiatives in ethno-cultural communities that 9 I4 D+ J2 ~3 p9 Y* A
increase their capacity to participate fully in the community
0 b( _/ X2 S) A4 t" a/ u Develop initiatives that convene stakeholders, community organizations, government agencies and foster collaborations between immigrant and main-stream stakeholders.
' D, |4 A0 A7 j* ` Proactively assist immigrant communities with: identifying needs, training, strategic planning, board development, project development, community economic development, funding proposal writing, program planning and implementation) `! _( H2 y$ B: o
 Develop Community Economic Development initiatives and provide small business coaching to groups and individuals' C) q8 x0 U( ?
 Facilitate group processes and workshops 8 ?; w6 o6 E" O* ?$ t% N3 S
 Advocate for systemic changes that foster full participation of newcomers in the community

 Demonstrated ability to independently develop community initiatives

h3 Q% K! R" a8 I( V Strong group facilitation skills
- {! t% |8 r f/ u+ O2 V+ s Experience supervising staff
# I6 D. m. n4 n# D Understanding of cross-cultural issues
) b) H2 d& c# | Excellent written and oral communication skills, including proposal writing skills # v4 @! H) t1 j; Y) ~& N. t0 n
 Strong organizational and Program delivery skills9 r8 R3 j& [( m

 Post-secondary education( a: ]3 `6 ]" k
 Experience/facility with Windows-based computer systems (specifically Windows 95/98/2000, MS Office, MS Word, databases, spreadsheets etc.)
