Responsibilities
! G, W$ T/ Y( Z/ s6 A Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
" ?8 C' P0 M5 ~/ c% X Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
; r* o5 Z* V/ k7 W; e' X* j Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
  E4 w6 Q' ?$ A; F Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
. @+ ]% }% N4 K; J3 q; P Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

: T4 P( O* M( w3 D! }Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
. t/ Q$ H$ v! }, H/ T Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
1 r" ?0 V" ]! L- F Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
: C0 c/ T) `' I Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
( n; q( T7 k' A. L* h/ b& X. j Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
