Responsibilities
  Y  u4 Z- K- A% T8 N  K Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
3 r2 t$ ^) g4 P! I) m) { Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
% |* O  I0 U7 @0 e# D Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
0 o! ~5 L+ k; f6 S/ m Social work degree or diploma
$ i! Q% ?4 ~1 u3 o Current RSW designation preferred   
$ u6 S8 T  ~# H Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
* N, a4 O8 n. I; [ Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
  I  U& T8 h8 F% Y Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
