Responsibilities
" X* ^" f5 ^* r, Q" i Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
7 g1 l" B  w% ]' j; {* ?5 \/ s$ w- g Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
) Q5 b% \# [) q Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

 Social work degree or diploma
: V) V  ]$ d7 {8 P& b Current RSW designation preferred   
- o3 R/ X; T6 x7 K. |; |+ c) W) i Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
! X, B1 P+ T) Q/ p: g Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
8 p+ m- y: h. U  S$ b1 K" \& ] Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- M+ H7 m! ?$ m$ V( o) x) U  G: O Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.

EMCN is a community agency that provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees. Further information is available at www.emcn.ab.ca.  Salary for the position begins at $34 879. A cost-shared benefits plan, including RRSP, is available.
