Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
2 z# W' f$ p0 W9 g% T Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
* ^0 S1 `. ~1 K& T Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
$ A3 e' J3 [! j# ^: p) f Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
' |& E3 x4 _1 g Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

 Social work degree or diploma
1 G. ?) M0 v1 g" a- ]+ g: g! K Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
3 J9 D/ l  N4 p6 Y, k9 T Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
