Administration officials have long argued that there is no evidence school speed zones reduce the danger for children.

- q0 v" l- y1 D% M/ v; B5 G"This is simply adding it to our set of solutions," Rick Millican, general manager of transportation, said. "Council is not saying if they approve it, put a school zone everywhere someone wants on.

9 _ o! i* M4 M j2 DThe city hasn't used reduced speed limits around schools for more than 20 years.
