Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
3 m1 m  o# [* T3 e& X( f  b/ p6 ]) Y% O Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
( M$ e+ Q1 J! Q Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
! ~: |0 |2 w. Y* k! ? Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
0 ?+ \. M" \  o! Q# N Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
1 ?5 ^& Z# ]- S/ F Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
1 }$ A1 u2 G# X Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
% r& q2 X7 B& w. R( K# ~* o Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

5 y! X3 _; q2 y: y; r( F Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
' s% ]- Q5 o/ n Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
- H  a8 S/ [" w% ? Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
- _* F1 o3 W- \3 a9 y7 c Knowledge of community resources.
# P& K! o5 y8 l3 y Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
# r0 a1 X2 T# S. _; ` Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.
' u5 _9 a. g6 ~1 z0 m
Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
5 ~4 f# G6 [6 _, F- _' jThere is a 3-month probationary period.
