 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.2 R+ q' ^" u1 g1 c, A
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
@7 S' ~1 L! y, C5 T$ c& I/ r Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.

 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.

" O% H. P- t3 k+ U4 n" I Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.

 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

# N( I, s8 _/ E) g& s8 U" n Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
) ? B5 F1 i% B8 o Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
( m n# V& e* v+ A6 V Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
0 N/ h" Y, h7 ^) b3 g Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
. g- g4 n, d8 X5 |% Z O/ B# } Knowledge of community resources.
; X9 m0 N* V+ S) O' m% t+ \" e Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.; h1 F4 W2 t7 B+ | O& }7 P; H
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training. . t5 r9 H& Y4 c0 R) P" n

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
2 P6 `1 w t7 Bstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
