New Program-‘ Tweenie Program’ (Ages 8-12)
Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

: \+ M, B& W. k& J2 a; U Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
: m7 p7 r) G, w" h- n" b- n Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
1 f; J) ?. `3 ]5 {, ~ Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
* T9 e- C$ @6 d% s6 ^  c. N0 H+ S4 r Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
  n: A5 A2 w8 _# ~1 ^ Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
* g/ z6 y; t; \0 @ Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

: p. p4 Z8 G. s* F2 G# z Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
" \% r$ n  J" {( ?. ?& c% i Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
