Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
( L. K3 s% X! R; K8 l Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.4 d9 U2 E- N. F& `
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.- y5 R" A, Q% e0 K
 Completing required paperwork.
% X: f, s. s6 z1 o) h Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.4 o5 E. o/ C, j u1 l
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.0 t# ^4 h- C0 I3 e& m
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information. # ?& U( P. K" M1 a# c9 b
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.) O2 i. Y) {- u( g" Q0 |
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff./ d& y& {" p, r! ?5 M( T
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
; |9 M7 R8 @4 o2 S Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
3 d* s7 a8 Y: m9 B& N( x$ v3 k Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.. F+ [0 b. l! h, w) T4 m1 A' j
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.& N9 {$ R @3 o
 Knowledge of community resources.
) v% O, x8 [1 E [/ J6 T/ h, u Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.! c2 P6 w- R; M2 r
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training. ) q+ Y8 L9 O" L$ D; G

Position:( G5 X( V6 {4 [1 X+ H0 c5 x
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; + E4 w, x( u/ {- m8 T
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
