Key Responsibilities & Duties:

3 D; K. D- \5 b& v" L! c7 f Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
3 T0 V2 O* T9 z" O8 L9 U" g Completing required paperwork.
4 d3 v+ ]% P% ~$ A; z& J/ k Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
  |4 G) r, Z2 m! N' \2 e  |% P9 t Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
. H6 [/ Y4 [2 M# [2 z' j7 B: V Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
$ ]; w# w4 y5 e% P, w; P6 B Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:
; u2 L) t/ @& N, S
9 F# P) j# ?: Z. a Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
! q9 O3 Z, s7 ?  \- h Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
7 B1 m& W* K* L- W% T( _4 \  a# j Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
% Y0 C9 c! i( l! CThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
