Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
6 h( Q  u0 g/ O2 U; \; J% ^* F4 }0 z Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
  \# ~& `+ f* @) R. V3 m Completing required paperwork.
( ?5 l( Y) }% b; T9 q& j; O Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
9 P5 h# n: ~$ L" { Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
% X  s0 \7 |. p  @% U6 Q Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
* U! P! z' a: _+ F, B6 h
3 F$ H& Y; m, [2 O' x Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
3 B* J7 @! o1 T& v  Z! M3 D Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

4 L- K' d! {$ D1 R# jPosition:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
1 ~/ r$ N. n, e5 A0 [9 dstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
