Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.

 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.

 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information. 0 M h+ x# _% _3 p& M! s
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.# z% g, r4 d, \! S; G" E: ~
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.

Qualifications:

3 F$ H& Y; m, [2 O' x Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.4 a8 o b' W1 L8 N) S% O$ r5 l
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.# s- P4 D, H3 W0 n" |% L7 ^3 e
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.) U1 n( h8 b8 \) W
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.' k3 a+ f: F4 I
 Knowledge of community resources.
3 B* J7 @! o1 T& v Z! M3 D Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.5 K) u* N* ]7 e! B; ]& @
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
