Key Responsibilities & Duties:
$ C- D0 u( @8 o. N& g
 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
( L. K3 s% X! R; K8 l Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
% X: f, s. s6 z1 o) h Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
; |9 M7 R8 @4 o2 S Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
3 d* s7 a8 Y: m9 B& N( x$ v3 k Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
) v% O, x8 [1 E  [/ J6 T/ h, u Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
