Key Responsibilities & Duties:/ ~) n& \# f3 X: J; _
3 D; K. D- \5 b& v" L! c7 f Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.2 }9 f3 y& M% _7 z+ ]
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.5 V r3 c* {4 Y. Y& c! o5 M/ ^+ G3 ^$ R
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.

Qualifications:

9 F# P) j# ?: Z. a Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
! q9 O3 Z, s7 ? \- h Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.$ G! m* \/ e4 r
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth." _5 X( X+ j* H8 K L8 {
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
7 B1 m& W* K* L- W% T( _4 \ a# j Knowledge of community resources.: V# F$ [$ \3 G( _5 W
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.3 t, r' u7 o. D; t- X W
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training. " [6 |' o- x( @ S) M) r$ a

Position:
% Y0 C9 c! i( l! CThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; 5 _" n) b- \9 X0 T9 e
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
