Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
2 A4 B+ @: Y9 ?2 P Completing required paperwork.
% Z1 L7 m/ d! R% Q5 J! d Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
# V7 v7 g/ t. z7 f6 W% w. ` Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:
$ j1 v7 M& j  n
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
) K8 a. t% O6 u0 _6 L Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
3 K6 A! |: c5 H8 [8 E7 k Knowledge of community resources.
9 L  o1 H5 b$ y Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
! H* e6 T1 ?  g: \9 e Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

2 f! R( m* j$ J0 T# j6 b1 \Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
2 u5 Z" i1 z& A1 u) P  Bstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
