The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

OPERATIONS
3 L9 P5 F* s* X" U5 X: C" p• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.% f5 M: U8 H: {' e D [4 { Z
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
! [& K" e2 ?1 \7 ^3 _; {6 {: R- o• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
0 l. B; g3 n. I% w) C2 E• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.3 [2 d) N0 A4 E4 E
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program." H5 p! ? H5 L) @! q/ E' O
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
: s' T; L% ? D; z& [3 |& l( d% w2 |• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
# l: A& I. q I; c4 U• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
# c$ h! \0 R+ ~8 i* ]2 ?• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required6 i( |7 {8 l$ R! ^! Y2 M8 V( i9 x

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING ) q& y& @+ d" R7 b! l! w* \. x3 A
• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO6 ?8 R7 S8 C3 G4 {- @& s
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up* m# `9 `5 a/ W- `) s
2 ^6 l$ W- I) \ADMINISTRATION
* k- ?: J& n& M! H* O/ z) r# Z• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
' i- _! i7 E! |, K. {• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation* \% N; Z! N$ H
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate! F1 d8 s5 i* ~* z4 y- ~
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department1 k0 M' M. t9 R2 Q" Y( L. p. \
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required ( J$ t9 h% ^! }2 y
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
( \- h) |0 T1 X+ \# _: u x• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services( d; d, G* B$ V% P4 h
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE
5 ?; e* M$ A/ L% Z! c• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances' g) u8 ^0 A& j, n9 l2 J) [3 t M
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

) Z/ S2 N$ c* ?: n, ?3 M+ m: qINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS1 m% M% \0 s9 A" L; G! h
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
+ C8 I9 p3 V: ?3 n• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
h% |1 T% v( L/ l" N# F" m• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
% l* C8 @/ V* A" N) v2 w• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required, o) {2 Z7 c7 O+ R

Qualifications:
1 P3 F# |3 E# _( f, s% N# q# |" I% w! _- Y
• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
8 _/ _6 q- K; l7 ?/ {6 s• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability1 v2 h: w" @3 ~& W0 u, B& {5 I$ \+ H, ~
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
; F0 [% M( A( c) H r% s8 J( o- k1 ]• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills , I# y; I% V1 l$ V
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure7 @7 s+ I& {) J( P* L& a* a s# _
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
: Q) h% x* E6 e2 B• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
& p% l9 d, S3 _& K5 P" n; J+ j• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
