The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

OPERATIONS
6 ~/ ]) w4 V0 [' B7 d6 F! e9 H• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events./ a, q$ ~3 Z6 [ P5 C/ T: a
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
m6 T* Q6 ?" c• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge5 _- f/ s0 A0 h4 @/ ?0 E8 h7 d
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
4 A& V, U) v& h3 b9 ^0 k& I: d• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.- A2 M- `4 J2 `8 l3 t) y
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
. m1 X* D& K2 b4 A$ b• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
. i7 y8 k- W4 u) V$ C+ b• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
# y$ f8 M& E7 m; I- \+ {- l• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

8 V) A6 @( k: O5 f• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO! T5 W; z+ O- h+ S1 n* d1 |+ N
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up7 [! Y6 H9 r& u( g. W1 g
: X0 r+ C3 I+ A; l' g; B$ FADMINISTRATION- [8 H$ J( a' L
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position: R) p* B" P( b' T+ V5 h. u
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
7 w! p# {( }6 T0 s• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
7 ^; M0 I) [; U% f# {• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
! E7 v: C# b1 c• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
7 w# \: N/ o& r& R+ M$ g• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency7 ^4 s8 a/ P2 ~& B
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Prepare a regular monthly program report" N& m! u% S, g0 K

6 T) `( z) v4 `: \- C• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances3 }- S6 E/ P+ J1 P' U. C
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

9 K4 r) y& j7 uINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
9 A: I6 o4 D# K) c• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
+ m" [# N |7 h+ F0 t• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)8 U! g% X8 H6 a: X
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate : d6 s8 Y9 B3 G. ?' F
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
5 G0 h1 A) q7 \• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability$ `3 U$ `5 w% v1 X; g. S0 `* m
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills( ^1 G# u' X: a0 V' {9 I
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills % z2 a7 H9 j# p! k5 g, i9 Z
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure. U" ?; k! P M( g* D3 \
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects ! s; @0 [3 N# R# A5 J9 S3 h' Q$ }# X0 ]
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality r6 O9 G9 B) T3 K2 x
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
