The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
! X3 I! @9 X" N# L2 C• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.( m3 C( M" Z3 q3 f4 N
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
3 x& M2 ?# o( H6 r" @; d' Y• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.8 V" v8 J* G7 P9 A. h1 j# c6 u& x
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.: A& b! p) {: M3 @* a2 @# C
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.

• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
S* B9 C1 k- e# m2 B6 Y: E( e1 R• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

* J8 }! p0 h2 m ?• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
9 Q5 n: Y$ t4 g0 G- |: m9 ^; V7 }• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation3 p1 a8 R8 F6 P
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate% n9 s+ L3 `1 q4 t; }, _: N
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department, Z& K5 |" F. @. X3 _
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 9 z& l! B9 ^ [( g. e$ f$ o# M8 d+ f
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency J: `! R$ z" d% a2 Q7 ? p, p
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services" ?$ g& S6 @, F$ u0 t% q
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances4 A" M6 [; w+ D8 F, I, w
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required2 t+ |& G! v6 C1 b
# v0 G7 k1 G$ U, sINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS7 h3 T/ H9 N5 \& w& t% o
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers, V9 W! Y: i# m' P. T
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
, Z- Y* q$ u0 V( P1 z' ]• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
: Q% n9 n" L4 O• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:
. u. g3 c L3 C3 m# x6 x& d( f% X- e( z8 D9 v7 _
• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
, z9 l; Y4 U9 z6 I• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
* z4 a4 X8 r: @5 h& ~* W• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills

• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
