The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

OPERATIONS
3 N' @3 [; s! u3 d6 W• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.0 Y, Q' H S" K
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.

/ D' }4 Z% H6 l1 P: L7 O4 |- S• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.4 u6 U0 V; v% W. V7 M, h
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
6 t- H5 a4 ]4 k* U+ [, A# H• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
' x V" c2 g1 O6 |* J• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
2 v2 y2 ]3 W+ R% E• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
( {! }0 M; t/ U1 {) c• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required; n2 }8 v5 N$ M3 N

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO3 E+ ?7 b+ y) Q3 ~8 {3 V
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up, [4 j4 }: z/ ?) ]

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
: }! `+ e7 P3 m; I• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
1 }- `- ]9 F$ i& x+ U* H) Z• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate) A; @ R; ~+ K1 ^- T$ V7 [8 X
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
7 N7 b3 N W) a* ], i# S• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required * A" }5 \# Y$ ^; b+ D, Y0 H9 ?
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency4 ?* ?8 K2 A1 J# B
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances: x8 c" P; i3 E4 u4 C" S6 @
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required9 W H* f% O0 j" C9 ~5 u) ]# j
2 n5 t# z5 ~. ^( S% v; l0 qINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS( k0 i: s2 f! v( }0 ^) v
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers0 {- C7 \+ h, o2 |
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
* P3 s. K' s' E1 E" ?' u• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 3 i0 u4 y% b' t( B
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:/ i0 ?" [: k' r# L! B

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
, N/ C1 W k, z+ L$ S: `• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability2 C3 ^" K$ N: a Z5 n2 V( ?
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills' d- Y$ a( ~% t+ y; {, r& p8 z5 g
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
$ x( \6 b1 d0 H/ q• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure& }! y/ N" e; P% \
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
