The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. OPERATIONS
( B9 Y- v& {8 T• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
5 c2 Z2 I5 \& F• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
9 E) s% _* Y6 N. n! O+ w3 r• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge/ z" y& j; M5 {, f. Y, S6 G
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
- c4 m/ [# z, c, [9 Q• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.; W6 o e" O+ V+ s" t
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.

• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities- X8 ]; N6 a! H5 ?
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required. i" I6 j. h! Y: w. z; S$ n* e

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING - a' E& T: `+ [$ `
• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
* X9 Z) B$ E! B [7 M• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up8 C. |4 K! ^# |* d

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position# ^: E1 z+ \ {) q9 E- o
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
0 B, D% Z9 {! U• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate: {5 M2 Y2 r k) d }; z
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department2 o8 _, O* N: q9 \3 U
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required & o* y: |. Y1 s# S- ]" \; U+ L8 {/ }
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency8 V, @/ j' I9 I
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
+ b6 X; C; r3 H• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes4 B. m/ k3 \, s7 X1 W
• Prepare a regular monthly program report% f3 H& H$ e7 I7 n% e$ `: r2 E

FINANCE
( ?, H) p ~& _) T, \6 t• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances+ B5 s3 }: I; r, m
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required! [# V$ }$ \; K# P, @& ]

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS! {" U6 W3 Z3 g9 t5 K
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
- @6 K1 H+ ]/ L5 p, \• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)$ p' c( }( G9 Y c& z% v
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
* G, m" b' c6 y% i) H! C• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

$ u7 `3 @4 J* G1 `• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
5 S, t! p% R2 ]4 h% t+ d( l; g• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability% Y/ b: W8 B7 o. X
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills( p/ f( Y( |6 `
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills 9 z! v& t; e+ J8 u
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure2 d. t+ q5 [4 a
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects ( ^6 [3 H6 m5 L9 a: ]
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
