The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

: o3 z5 A) f: ^) j8 R z% A• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
( X7 T# B, C2 |5 E$ w; ^• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services. a! F8 ~7 w, x
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge5 [" e% M+ ]( c
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
* M0 p. ~: q7 E0 V• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
$ q% ~ `; }* j• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
2 {$ }9 O6 q6 G6 P+ [; e• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development./ O5 n7 X+ R6 [3 ]. [
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
) s' v8 P5 w& e• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
2 y. b/ m+ N) e, H. l• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION+ x3 U! V; y, p% \6 H( F7 N
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
$ A, H. }, g0 ~: O; _4 F• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation# \- H, l" c% C5 U1 Y/ R
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate# p- d2 l1 v/ e
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
! [! n1 X3 l+ O• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
! C. n. g6 f" c3 `4 t+ G• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency& j1 q7 ~4 ^( O9 Y
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services+ e3 h6 ?; S" [8 f( ?1 o
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes% H( a6 I" ^1 t7 s9 s' W2 N2 Q/ a
• Prepare a regular monthly program report

FINANCE
6 b/ @( u7 S/ t• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
( C m) i; [! G5 N• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS8 a6 X! r1 K3 y- y/ ^5 N
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers( `$ T+ m+ D( b E: z
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
# o) z9 e; f2 D+ S' x5 {• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 0 t( ~3 C$ c$ w: w0 g- d/ V
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required5 a+ d0 x% @& F! u" s

Qualifications:
1 S3 r# u4 g1 N8 W$ B* H: B: H! g1 H# C2 C6 y8 x) |
• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
! v4 l. c( x4 ]! ~. V3 b3 T• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability: p7 {" u$ x& ^8 r% [
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills: s' u1 v' G6 A; |4 N8 q
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills 0 P- B" X7 Z) O7 ?( z7 `9 l
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
' L% K. i' }( a% ~* D/ D• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects ! A# q3 F. i% j w, ]
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality8 r3 a; V# p# N
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial 1 P1 }9 }; Z+ ?& q
