An engineering start-up, which is committed to support the R&D and industrialization of process technologies in North America with expertise and international resources, now accepts applicant for the position of Mechanical Engineer /Specialist through Industry r&D Associates program, Alberta Ingenuity.

Major Responsibilities:
•        Process research equipment design;
" `! j. i& X  Q/ u2 h•        Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;
9 y3 x& ~+ I( _# n- j$ ]1 Q7 W" I8 C' ~•        Equipment fabrication guidance;
•        Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;
5 y$ Q" w, S4 _0 Z% m' D5 W7 r( F•        Others.

Qualifications:
3 z# B) b, @# _# g•        Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months.
•        Equipment design experience is required;
/ e" w; }" E* _6 K- v1 W7 h" y•        Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;
2 R+ Y, w$ V1 ?6 C•        Familiar with CAD software;
•        Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
•        Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

Compensation:
Successful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term.
