Key Responsibilities & Duties:

* \* B$ `: s1 E7 B Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
1 f" R" N0 p2 K Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
" F7 C, u: k" D0 u3 T5 X Completing required paperwork.
0 g$ ]; z& E5 j Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
1 w9 N. {  M6 G Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
% l2 H2 G% T, B# n& }1 W  T: w0 K Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
7 ]; p9 M6 X3 }6 R$ T& Z, E9 U Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
( \! f; f6 W' L4 l) _. h2 s Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
1 |. j' T. C! w5 s Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
* ]# Q0 }9 L+ I% [6 [: X7 C4 qstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
