Key Responsibilities & Duties:

% B( k+ T4 T# n! X# {. y Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
6 V8 m8 ~2 k! R( c; n0 U$ x Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
) Q* f/ W$ d$ Z6 a2 D) n Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
# j4 v9 Z! _0 D3 Z. k0 ? Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
+ S: N( z# K3 K; e4 m0 } Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

$ Q1 ^; y- q9 PQualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
% h6 G! V; j( t4 ^% o# K Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
1 T/ S) |" J+ j9 a+ r# P! e9 s Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
/ j* V% Y  Q% ?0 E% Q7 C Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

5 m% d; \# m, J* E) F2 W2 C, ]This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
9 u. D* p+ r1 d! t' Kstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
