Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  \& U3 g; D) A, W5 v/ Z# s8 b: M Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
* Q( K$ ~- y2 Z, g* N) W- E# Y Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
6 ~0 t( `; r2 F+ J' m Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
4 z  R- w4 J# H9 V Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
* ~2 @3 @. D* L, [ Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
2 O: b5 p) w8 P4 k/ ? Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
6 N# j5 a0 h, [# O6 Z- ^ Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
3 J: C) o, S0 p, H+ T( N Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
1 S+ u2 L) H1 P& i5 s: w/ r8 k0 ` Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
. ?) s) U0 j/ b( x Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
