Essential Qualifications: excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society; experience facilitating educational sessions using participatory techniques; demonstrated leadership abilities with youth; experience with project coordination; degree or diploma in human services field. Preferred: knowledge of immigrant or Aboriginal culture and/or language; experience with functioning of non-profit society.

Under the direction of the Program Manager you will:" Z+ p* f. c0 _" q) o
; J2 T1 E, R& d- I$ D9 ~Recruit Volunteers – facilitate on-going recruitment of volunteers to participate in the core group of PA; this is done by inviting members of groups who are being presented to, making contact with other youth groups, and by print media, broadcast media, and e-mail invitations.9 p+ T& J, a$ b& d
! k% l* P7 e. }0 E( `Training – facilitate weekly meetings of core group volunteers. Training in participatory techniques, presentation techniques, and knowledge of race-related issues.7 S% L3 E# w: x% d

Organize Presentations – advertise presentations through distribution of brochures and posters and by contacting interested groups and schools by phone, email, and mail; take requests for presentations, set up dates, and ensure adequate volunteers are present to facilitate discussion.$ C( i( `5 F9 Z& p* j

Networking – attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate; create/maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations.

! j9 n9 f1 a, \; I! h* Z0 y ^Professional Development – be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.

) J/ f& b: g9 H% _6 h5 h; R; ]# CProposal Creation – with program manager, create proposals to all funders of this project. Ensure criteria for each funder is met in each proposal. Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators.
