FUNCTION:
  m3 p6 l. j/ \  V5 |0 JAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
. r0 m" e% S% {• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
! i: j# O* E: x9 j! ^  H8 y• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
, M& e: \8 V6 ^' `& ]3 n3 v• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
+ L8 t3 J5 I8 C- \8 r5 j- f$ _7 H• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
; Z2 d" G$ U8 T+ A/ _/ A! [% b1 h• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
/ S6 }. t  g/ g9 |( |, D6 M2 w• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
9 o1 c9 w6 n+ n- O0 j" O• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
' E: N, k; b* V7 W% A2 H• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
  m; D6 w) T8 u8 i4 Y0 y& q6 e• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
7 m+ n* u3 B- Q; A4 G# h* N• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
, x. d. Z8 D5 b+ ?• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
2 m, j+ ]3 H2 t• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
