( E2 K: I& U% ?5 @1 D4 }2 g; WAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

2 u* ^$ F* M' _- p1 Y4 cDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

0 I1 r' Q2 ]6 C# x! K: f7 i  h5 e• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
7 X. S7 r: c5 i9 r7 o( u, j• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
0 V. I6 }9 _# s$ g• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
1 [4 c2 G# }- D; g: ~• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
8 `) B0 }& ?5 \( M9 k• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
! ?9 M% z4 N/ ~+ m- h: U' N. P• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
2 @5 |0 i, N% L$ L• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
% G5 h6 V" A0 P+ s1 ]9 f# t; a• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

& F' e1 g$ Y: t0 TSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
7 N/ T5 l% |" }, ~+ N4 ]/ \• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
/ Y. n7 Q% }3 u6 L4 g• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
' v. }- g! J5 y- t1 O9 b0 D) F• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
1 a, W1 e4 Y8 m( ~9 `" X5 Z• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
* W3 H; L# c0 Z5 s% t8 P4 F3 O2 D• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
