FUNCTION:
As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

. I( g4 y* G. ?3 V2 @5 E' U8 TDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
- i4 U4 }+ r$ ^1 s( W. J1 K• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
$ U% o6 \. t. m: K• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
7 F- S2 M4 w0 v2 [; r" Z9 p8 \• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
8 p8 m( T4 @/ H/ D) z! z• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
7 E2 W- F% K6 f1 h( d0 K8 Q2 c- O• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
3 s  E2 U0 B" B. K9 y  Y0 e• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
  y2 o$ `5 _: y9 x• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
: |! p; R+ v. V# d4 \# \• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
+ @$ g9 {1 g% H• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
  ?. z5 S4 [0 c7 [4 O1 [5 p+ p• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
9 x) Q: T( O. P; a• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
' f0 i* G' _) z8 b& T" N+ E9 j• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
6 O$ s% w8 @( X( j+ }6 G• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
