4 M2 ]; p( X& U, j. ]As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

& b4 P" f( w- z( _Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
" _5 A) Q5 e* z7 F• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
% Y0 m6 Y  B1 ^1 p4 R# q  ?• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
" |& ?. o6 X5 E9 e) j• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
( Z& w- n: V2 G6 l* A• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
  ]. l8 {) }" k! \4 k4 B, m• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
6 M  i3 ^. L: p0 @: r. j% W• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
8 L& Y4 l- o" {4 s% F• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
; s! l( k/ B& a+ b1 C% L; \• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
. g$ _- M5 S1 Q& y  b( A/ D• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
; {) w( m' s% ]3 o9 |• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
4 z) {$ J1 [! [$ R! i; p• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
