As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

Enterprise Data
& Q5 C( ~) m3 N6 I4 z4 v; G  S• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
8 [3 ^' ^5 s; l- N• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
+ v0 \, e0 k0 N, {/ {Bi /Reporting/ETL
; T" ]9 v  K9 n& {# n• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
7 m. K' L! @+ ~# Q9 I0 @' ?• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
# }+ G" h. K- V8 X• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
: |& \* g6 \9 d- Z! H2 f9 {• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

5 l) C8 W- a* e0 i1 G) Q' u) oSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
/ g% ^9 G! O8 ^( M3 k• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
+ O; D: D7 o$ L2 |  F  q• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
1 F: j+ k8 b9 a$ M: }• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
5 F4 }( A1 v/ s; T8 V• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
9 [- B& J* r8 U+ M/ P0 k% N• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
