- @. J, x% N, R! i6 `; d1 E- D% qAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

$ }' n9 p# L& DDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
, b3 r6 a9 _. l. TEnterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
( }" F7 e* f: I! Z4 K' C• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

0 R2 Y! F. Q9 z% N* R" pSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
; d$ K, a  y9 N' x• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
" ^0 R9 X0 `! v( [- o4 T- T• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
8 \  z, G+ k+ o  c) W• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
" c! N, k! `  k( Z8 ~• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
, }& O- n" E8 r1 U• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
( J. ~; l( }7 @* Q7 r  ^• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
