Primary purpose: The Social Worker works in partnership with settlement workers or - l7 V) [* W1 c, M0 L5 H* {
community cultural brokers from New Canadian Health Network partner organizations to

8 {7 r5 |' B! ?& P' {: ^ Nature of Work: The Social Worker will report to the manager of mental health services.
1 E R+ l* A: |3 n6 S' q/ wThe position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff,
% T7 V% C1 k7 D. X) g; \, T: L$ ]newcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social
, `5 N# B f6 e! TWorker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as
- R. T4 c5 q+ c9 f) Yneeded. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for
- w; }$ n' @) y, n8 ~newcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial
. D8 Y/ U6 W" n8 t- Rassessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-3 F7 v% N* W$ |

Developing of social networks and community supports for newcomer families.

Work in partnership with settlement workers or cultural brokers to provide supplemental

Qualification

Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and
& Q: O& |" K; ?5 y+ z2 Dexperience in Social Work or related human service fields.
p2 q+ q; z. D" o& z( C* G Extensive knowledge of community resources, including in depth understanding of family
* d f- r3 q6 B4 Fsupport needs
9 a7 W1 f: ~$ s6 N7 y Experience/facility with MS Office computer applications & t1 I9 T j, Y( Z# G, ^* v
Proficiency in both official languages is an asset, as is fluency in other languages % Z5 _: J' ~" H+ f. A
Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle with appropriate
& G2 Y' C/ f7 q H. d3 Ainsurance coverage for work : a! y& U0 a/ O7 r X% T( H
2 y& d6 g/ X' r: C: }Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience working in a related field 0 Z# T ~7 y; r0 N2 Q0 d' E
