A scary moment for employees at the Maxxam Analytics Tuesday afternoon. M# @3 A T3 h+ N' Z& I& x4 E' N
# N$ T; q9 w' zAround 2:25 p.m., Edmonton Fire Rescue received two 911 calls to 50th Street and 67th Avenue. One was reporting a fire, the other reporting that someone had been injured at the same location.1 `& ?) z3 `6 B5 G2 u8 D: U

Fire rescue's Tim Wilson tells iNews880 there was a flash fire in a lab where the chemical Toluene is housed.

2 C4 ~$ T) d0 k; N- P8 ~: Y"The fire took place in a room at this facility that did have some sort of flammable products stored in there," says Wilson, "and somehow, this ignited and caused a fire."

Wilson says fire rescue responded with trucks from three houses because of the flammable chemicals housed in the building.9 [, j3 J; T: `* B) N6 M ~

"We had eight units on scene, with about 30 firefighters," he says. "The fire was out in just under 45 minutes, and was under control in 15."
