execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

8 d. N) A; v% c; ?6 ^• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 9 ?2 v9 x2 J& g/ @7 }' b
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 7 A- e, B# e2 h4 h8 B, p! W+ c7 p
the Board of Directors; ) O$ B) p' P* A
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
8 O3 C7 S6 [* {3 y1 e5 Z7 j5 Vincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to % Z4 }6 B: N0 J; t8 \0 a
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
# i8 N5 ~/ R2 I" H• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
3 R" t" N8 Y! B5 q4 A2 V' x* Sobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by , X5 G( y: C5 L- |1 M5 [
the board;
$ j r8 ~, J9 |+ t. C7 Y% X• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ! x# g$ u) ], r2 T# `3 u a
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
8 E6 _. f2 T3 Y/ g! O, pthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
7 M0 C% q) `! H2 ^& K2 ]• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue $ t) P$ D0 \, c
commitments; ) q0 R6 C) Z& G" q% j
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
/ o9 I3 X. N' Y0 _, C5 m' }• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
( k5 c _/ {1 H! s" u# @2 \5 Oselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 1 ~; `4 I, g4 a+ g! J/ H9 @
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; $ ]$ {! y# a$ Y1 H3 k+ H
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
; `4 L8 D4 `, z# `: P% uthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
4 n* w) c. [3 x, Q- L |4 m• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
$ e- \: e+ L; W* ]7 I1 fperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ; M9 A# M: u& A6 R6 I7 a
the forthcoming year;
* u8 T+ V4 V' V0 t) Q8 o- T+ h• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical * r0 S, i+ C5 v$ e0 t# H* F
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 0 s" K7 n! L# `0 f- P3 O' O
YWCA Canada; and

' R/ _( n h+ w1 P4 c$ H• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; - z D; R+ ?6 s
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 1 x; Y( q! U) m. \* V- s) K
abilities;
2 D0 G9 [ d0 }• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
. v" a7 a, ]7 ~4 i0 ? [' NNetworking and Fundraising; % Q. \4 Y" h4 t0 N7 d; Z- L% _) X
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
