The IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.

2 g6 \ O# ?2 k§ Provide high level of customer service to internal customers
7 d$ B1 @& Z4 @& y- m9 L$ e$ @§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution
$ ?9 b7 O* |' ]§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation
3 J+ I h) N% N/ r4 Q§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times
: |" A. D7 c% Y/ q% X8 l§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk6 j" @! b: I9 o( X! |0 Z
§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert% F0 P/ H8 k! p& j4 |
§ Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external parties& V: D; d0 g: c: T' |! Z
§ Special projects as required$ v1 |) n1 }& J0 z" _3 @
§ May be required to provide after hours pager support for emergency trouble calls

Qualifications:$ b6 j. i* `% W, m! a `# a
§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience x6 [! X) [3 l3 H2 L5 q
§ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others and work under minimal supervision* j8 j0 u6 R9 H& _0 ?9 X
§ Fundamental commitment to customer service
/ G, K* \& D6 H9 g. ~/ E6 W# w* \§ Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work on multiple issues

§ Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting client desktop software9 }$ u( L4 s6 A/ b" W
§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems

Position Summary:

L! d2 L4 HThe IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto). 1 y8 @8 i0 u z

§ Work with auditors (internal and external) – respond to requests, prepare response to audit reports# A# i6 x- T7 s4 a
§ Hardware and software configuration and implementation/ k8 s% s) b* l. S- M, ~7 H
§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to

§ Perform network administration at the domain level; managing user accounts and network access

§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan

§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert

) w! T0 d5 z/ L, {/ y: A§ Manage user ID request and approval process in conjunction with Director of Finance
