The IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.) {3 W2 C! x( S! @8 L/ {1 `

§ Provide high level of customer service to internal customers R5 L. y7 I F7 \! b3 s" Y
§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution % d0 ]' a. U# m; R4 j
§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation/ O! G" R( D4 y+ p0 b: R
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times
& ^2 a$ s* D# ^3 l9 n# K§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk
h w% \" I+ I/ i' A; b§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert

Qualifications:/ F: B3 {3 w# b" j4 _3 s8 @$ h3 V
§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience
8 O9 R! Z8 B( x§ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others and work under minimal supervision
: m0 P' q& ~ T& h§ Fundamental commitment to customer service
/ ?+ w& `4 T4 ^3 d+ N§ Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work on multiple issues7 o) k6 M& \/ }- ?) N, }
§ Proven knowledge of Dell, IBM, Xerox and Lexmark hardware4 Z% k0 E9 |. J9 R
§ Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting client desktop software- k/ E; G# A0 a$ b
§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems' D% Y4 T8 H! The IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto). 0 T' [7 w1 ?0 s1 O* N1 p6 F! l

§ Manage and coach staff in IT group

§ Reporting to the Director of Finance and management on a monthly basis on status of IT projects and initiatives% u8 [$ _* T9 y, @! u
§ Work with auditors (internal and external) – respond to requests, prepare response to audit reports! r' k: S( U) \, p* Z8 o) |
§ Hardware and software configuration and implementation* y' U) X" `' ]9 \1 `
§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to! v% y, @0 V7 ?# J8 B* h+ K
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times
0 Q6 J" Q: m( Z3 b§ Perform network administration at the domain level; managing user accounts and network access2 x+ t* ~* j' e9 d2 G
§ Develop and maintain backup and restoration procedures) t o0 X( }7 q' q2 T9 y' x+ E
§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan

§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert

§ Implementation and support of small systems technology initiatives in conjunction with SYSCO Canada IT
