Position Summary:
7 l# U1 X5 a |7 \& v. G! v& IThe IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.; ?* D q2 W/ E

§ Provide high level of customer service to internal customers
8 l: \+ k; W9 V+ z7 l& S§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution ( a. p1 S6 ?# O: h
§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation2 C# @& e6 z; p! ?) c: a
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times: X1 n0 ^4 X$ e1 ] D
§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk
, ?: m4 h6 }) U! L§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert

§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience

§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems* P a& h( T7 J2 m

The IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto). 9 p3 e" r, W( S$ E

§ Reporting to the Director of Finance and management on a monthly basis on status of IT projects and initiatives4 q; B" v5 C( _7 A
§ Work with auditors (internal and external) – respond to requests, prepare response to audit reports
+ F+ x0 k1 U( s8 b§ Hardware and software configuration and implementation% k- Y2 v9 v/ t m: H- a; f# ^
§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to3 v: e. M- `: X9 z+ U. U9 J
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times- N& ~* N; ]# b' K' J
§ Perform network administration at the domain level; managing user accounts and network access
# z7 ?% C8 B/ g. E& K2 `§ Develop and maintain backup and restoration procedures1 e8 ~+ x2 v# G8 g, s. M* p
§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan2 X/ r' N. Z7 q- C( W
§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk
