Responsibilities
Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
$ Z. Y) N$ a5 k( `) B- H8 Y8 `; OMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
  S$ e6 ^4 q$ l; a8 gMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
0 p/ |! Y3 }8 y6 ?! _/ CParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.

- S/ M  p( q+ c2 L5 YMust have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
  d! B( v' d+ K' b$ B1 H8 v' Z0 l8 ~Computer skills an asset.
3 s0 X+ E* [0 e' c4 DAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
