Responsibilities
, z( J$ ?$ n; Z( o3 {* `+ RAssists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
) c! A: \3 t. c! m% ]3 R" ]Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
  G% X0 r1 ^: U1 J8 n( n9 \Maintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
7 }' b2 c7 p. G$ M) uMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
Qualifications
7 H5 V9 B* U* tMust have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
" ?+ J! i3 d9 y/ c3 \( I2 qComputer skills an asset.
' ]  t) L  l' y2 V' O# MAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
