Responsibilities
9 B8 E J' l3 t7 [/ l3 \Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager. 4 B/ d% ^" M4 ^
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
6 ~! W$ z, l, I( yMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
3 S) l. K+ S. D m. ]; O9 b4 ]Maintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
$ K$ X x7 x$ Z/ O$ J& l u' N5 ?Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it. , h9 y" Y5 h* C- e- h
Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.

?! w1 q4 }/ ~) {3 H3 {" gMust have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
- R( T% d6 s6 RMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
+ @3 T) G0 U0 f# \# E! f8 p/ YComputer skills an asset. 4 V7 a/ |" \, O9 ~- m" v# N- L S1 M
An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities. 1 n) K- U, j( | ~2 J
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
