Responsibilities
4 q' l- z; Y% r) a4 G/ ~! w- WAssists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
Maintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
. N  b% }8 W0 ?: `Maintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
! A: |, C  [1 k) qParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
Qualifications
" Z" S7 ~0 I% y( J' N3 G- g2 Y4 j6 aMust have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
/ D1 ^  ]: u, Y$ B0 QMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
* \. _+ N" m, A3 r4 Z5 P3 eComputer skills an asset.
An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
