Responsibilities
% d6 [. W+ L, n6 [, x0 u; h6 |$ }Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
8 h  m- G* O, xMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
7 {. M+ `: w+ hMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
+ T- Q$ ~2 e* L; P/ V3 zParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
Qualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
/ H: H9 y6 c+ `3 lMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
8 w, D' }" O! f# M8 T( ]8 U1 ZComputer skills an asset.
$ o! z) q; Q( C; l* T7 P# GAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
) t2 e( b, a. }% {8 I2 ^Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
