Responsibilities:
0 W+ s5 K7 d2 k- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
" v0 @% I6 C b1 m- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling2 V! s! R y G( f$ T5 D# ~
- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
& E) K0 M* T1 v" x- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
3 r9 j5 c) y! P* T+ K, X- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health+ k+ l! |" V* L
+ b& I% f- }) Q
4 y* t7 A h8 T. z" D; rKey Qualifications:& s3 c% R$ A2 v6 P( H# |
- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
h& h' H( `& p- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
- |' c3 C0 U" m: G# g! H \$ Z! s& s- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
* S" b3 S/ D6 I$ w3 Z- Experience doing program development
) h: k! ?3 ^0 l5 c7 e9 |* p- Strong organizational and coordination skills1 W' J3 r: b3 }: D$ ~
- Self-directed and able to take initiative4 ?$ W: c7 y( w% ~3 N9 U S
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset# r/ B D6 U( f E, ~
- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license# d l& f4 s# t/ ^

- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation/ a4 S: l0 ] c! {, N7 D
- Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities

- Skills in marketing & promotions
