Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.

Compensation: Based on experience & qualifications.

Responsibilities:
-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
4 M# ~" a* G; X+ ~- C! R/ S-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
( _& O+ H  A9 u, f9 @1 M-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:
, y) l; E8 Z8 \1 h& L: @6 S3 M6 l-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
4 G9 x$ n1 W8 x  x' Y-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
$ k7 B8 w' o$ u6 M. U-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
) W' J. C" m) [1 {4 ~-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
4 d8 P* F* U' l-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

Assets:
-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
- ^) J& _$ U7 F) i-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
1 {0 c# h# c. C2 ~& L. N-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
-        Skills in marketing & promotions
' H' X: E* E2 c6 o-        Some evening and weekend work may be required
