Position Overview  
/ D9 l& U( _# t1 O* S3 F1 \1 _ The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
& ~$ Y" p* H( @! s: f) P! S: _Job Duties/Responsibilities  
-  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
$ K5 f4 H. \$ c+ a# v-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
* c) q# s' E; E. Z& H-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
+ E1 h! _4 R; Z  n; d0 D& s* Z-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
  v5 U5 Y- P( ?" H* R7 v-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;

Education/Experience  
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
) G# Q3 H9 K" Z: `* h0 K-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
1 f' u. q& w' c& w: r-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
$ A1 c7 z1 [; R! z  f-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
