/ f4 \ V! z9 TNo, it breaks down slowly because of its high C:N. It makes a very attractive mulch as well, so if you have a lot of it I suggest spreading it on top of autumn leaves around trees or shrubs, or at the back of the bed where weeding is a chore.9 F- M) d& h* W$ `! E& r% j
8 q6 j3 k+ X. v1 a v6 ~Spruce needles are another matter - because they are thicker, and have a pointy end, they can poke you as you spread your compost - wear gloves and you will be fine.# h- m& c- S" X( v$ J# e$ o
