Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.* e- M: ?) & ~; Z! r. @" fCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Complete data entry in various programs.% @9 P8 F+ O/ F9 X9 x, Q

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual., j9 v. {) u) _8 \: ]+ T

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.

• Perform financial administrative duties as required.

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.: v( J; v" A4 w# @7 |% D8 H2 t
9 w; l* y3 d6 r2 a8 c( |$ i• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.' u; W1 u3 x. ~/ Q- v8 S

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.' K; f8 M5 _/ \ {7 j' b

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.0 c7 C& T* J( b* e

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

7 ]" A( A# i! b5 S: z• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

; L! |6 ^9 W y2 y3 Q$ u• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

' A& }, V% h5 oSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.
