Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special ! {& o+ n+ A$ h7 g
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: + \6 C- ^( f: S3 O2 c

Duties: Special Events
& H' \* z: l# L3 n) s; CPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
. S" ]# S/ B0 p8 }; }. R# I· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
2 @- f, } J3 D4 R" ~& P, V· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist % j, r1 J* [2 ]
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
$ _- j" p0 g+ a+ K4 ^advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
: z1 |$ m K6 \, V6 G! K/ C! y; v; aset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. + u& n6 |1 ?6 J: i Z. f" V+ z
· Attend and manage Special Events

! N5 n1 P) o$ `* L3 h; `9 qAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
% e" S" s/ X# ]- T- T# R$ J· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
6 ~3 x- i2 ^# q! H3 `· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
4 s6 D6 Z: O8 j& H( k2 H* S1 l· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers / r/ ?: {. B* t1 F* Y$ P" E
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers ; V' h' O, Z% J2 H% g
· Complete program administration, statistics and records 7 R. N* y O1 T- }8 \. [ r
; x5 k8 E! V5 i* xQualifications:
3 }7 U( g+ i! x/ P( j8 J· Completion of 12th
5 s- w" N* w4 V8 a/ z: A Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
; l2 ~$ _2 d+ ]: wAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. " C- @6 X9 c7 M! r7 M. j
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 5 |% z/ P+ I; f* _9 z
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
) ]" ?9 W( O$ G6 o/ Q$ t· Experience working with and managing volunteers " m, V4 _9 Y0 p
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
