Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
* Q( V- M1 {& v- OEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

. u$ n$ h- v3 Z- v9 G5 D6 lPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events: $ D( d" H- m2 n# r' {" y
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 0 I# t1 N, t1 \9 j8 J" ]$ E
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist . q# ?0 |- k3 _+ I, Y4 p" @, E
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 9 \6 f! L* w3 l$ M0 Q! t3 J
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure * A: V$ p j$ I! N% o
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

Duties: Volunteer Coordination
6 J2 ?9 |2 P/ |. wAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 8 V( H+ l1 i' Q8 {' W
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions c: P$ i) ] p' W
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
+ E2 Q* y0 I2 E r) l( \· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers 5 O6 p$ U; {+ o7 I; |; n* F
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers ' t0 w, ^6 A' s% m
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

Qualifications: $ z; Y7 \6 g& T% C1 ]3 M- T, K
· Completion of 12th( {) K3 l* V8 Q& g8 ?
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
6 @- t6 n5 A* I/ s+ \8 dAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. ) m8 f8 w' x/ @) W, S
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
7 {4 S, _$ u- gexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
- u) l0 n0 T4 i$ S8 f' o· Experience working with and managing volunteers ' N0 g' d* V7 M l* ?9 ?7 t) H
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
6 k: P5 O# x2 g# ~( R9 {· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
3 d2 F% F, H+ |$ M· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
7 L. w) w0 E! W9 U+ q* c) ~· Security Clearance
