Duties: Special Events 0 N2 _1 S3 Z D0 l2 C( |/ }& ?
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
: E9 \, ]- b" U6 m( C" @· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
) O; h* q% @ i. d# G' Z$ ^· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
$ R+ s; g o, H& A5 Uwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
. x& A4 q, ^$ E8 D" t3 }' Eadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
f9 F) c0 W1 E$ I' Q% Jset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 3 W6 c& F2 f5 w# N
· Attend and manage Special Events

Duties: Volunteer Coordination 4 s" Z5 F, b& P3 l
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
3 x8 O6 Z3 T% @: t) s O" e5 L· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
0 ~5 S' ~& W" S9 {! S7 ?/ J: H! |( K· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers & l0 c% H* W! |7 Z# ?$ d
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers / s, t- a: Y3 t* j3 G
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers & K7 r0 _9 ]! s; [; L9 n( U
· Complete program administration, statistics and records
& j' L0 k! `1 S G) o- `) a8 C3 c
. Z& i; S8 v1 B' l+ o+ h. t. a3 jQualifications: # X* X$ ]+ v; ~
· Completion of 12th
; p- P! b, q% X% C' z- I Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation 4 i% H' g+ R# M) O3 E
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. & B2 i' [" p' j7 D) N/ }! I, t
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct , J9 ~: j! x4 p+ F
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events 4 R/ m2 P9 \0 F0 o4 w
· Experience working with and managing volunteers " T5 P* a+ F/ n% {7 |
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
" c" {, k @3 K# P8 q4 E· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events ) O ~+ u. q8 d2 ?
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

) n& O4 C$ |+ L" @ X. u1 b) fHours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work 4 u, D9 ]" t$ w
+ L2 @: S2 Z6 R6 T4 EWages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
