Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
0 M b, z H4 s1 c* u* jEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Duties: Special Events ' U8 _0 u5 k' I) f Z$ e
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: 2 n1 e/ r& p! p: |; s
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
0 {' j$ l) s% a" K- E· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist + k6 \8 n1 g2 P M+ q+ A
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
' J2 M5 ]4 N' }7 {2 Ladvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
/ k+ H9 I4 E" Wset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. & @" K4 ~7 f3 U# z
· Attend and manage Special Events

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
: Q1 J9 s8 m! ]· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions % l4 |! P# @1 x) R
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
! E9 p5 C0 Q3 v0 \6 I. Z+ S& d% T· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
( a' }; v: Q2 p· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers ( e2 Q4 u5 [/ T
· Complete program administration, statistics and records
/ G1 k# J6 H+ {/ c2 W 6 B7 z. a% d$ ] A
Qualifications: 0 r2 m: U, O( q* ^6 ?
· Completion of 12th7 g' `9 G3 F0 I0 h; r4 f" \/ `5 c
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation 1 m$ Y' G$ ~0 y. C% p0 R( G
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. 4 m5 R( j ^/ }( I$ Q5 x" K
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 1 K3 R- W, a4 L' F
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events 8 ?( g& X9 J8 p
· Experience working with and managing volunteers 4 }4 P# k& I. _
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
3 E+ U8 H2 G6 n! D" d6 X+ W* z· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
* S( N5 d; F D* r, J+ M· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

3-month probation to start
