Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
, B, K& z% p' t. C+ w( n, xskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
, i; U7 ~! n- rprogram combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
- H- S0 `( u5 @( M. [6 r5 s7 Zexperience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
/ C/ f8 r2 Y2 @  gwarehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

Candidate Profile:

3 s2 @% E0 h' q! {& m+ q9 J! W. lCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
/ ]) I1 A, l5 l/ z+ P# L3 F+ Msecondary education
- i7 v9 J; H9 ?5 B" }*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
occupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
- q9 u7 Z8 n: w3 ]*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
0 }% \: t- z1 Q1 d*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:

! s& Z8 N, F6 F" I                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
; ]  B: i7 T- H# x4 Bfield trips
; P* [5 E# x: S: z' L" H, N        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
* |+ i: G0 W' _4 l- P$ Shigh-demand occupations
        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
& q  I4 L9 `3 j6 x: `        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement
