Program Overview:

Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
skills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
* d8 o3 c. D3 O# g4 y1 A6 R/ @' ~experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
; A9 C! h) h, O. R, \  Sservices and others.

* N8 o) z: D) ~0 [, RCandidate Profile:

/ s# U! m2 n; \9 PCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
6 N5 L% i: o* r; A% N! u*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
" o" w9 I( V# `/ d! [*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
# f; i  i/ I& A, I5 J8 y) zoccupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
7 j# o; D3 K- o3 x*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
7 i$ I9 X: j5 U: F2 B*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months
! O7 N' z' G+ v, j( c: K4 Q

                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
field trips
        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
8 N+ B) c) u- r; m9 g6 E        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
' Q8 N1 ^0 ?) J7 R1 |1 Q2 m9 sInternet, etc.)
& _/ |3 E3 [: K        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
& ?6 J8 p7 M( E# |# i        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
! r2 ^3 o5 f3 C                        *        1 month work-experience placement
