$ e' M3 p# r3 j& M. i/ qIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
( `' k8 r' h* j& p4 f) G) S* ~skills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
) e/ @; ~- {' C0 bservices and others.

Candidate Profile:

Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
occupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

& c8 ]1 a& [7 {% q1 d9 v! jhigh-demand occupations
        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
8 s8 m6 E6 W/ B2 u# T! h' K: TInternet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
* j2 d  n# Z' I$ {7 d( h" K        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
# _/ E( z$ a1 l+ l                        *        1 month work-experience placement

        *        September 12, 2005 to January 31, 2006

        *        9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (tentative)
