Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
skills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
: i8 j) u0 e: B! y1 i& z  qexperience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
  t# a. I1 Q& c' O4 w) L' W$ Fwarehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

Candidate Profile:
$ s) W' p* u# T4 v
Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
' Z. M4 f+ H/ v6 K( _. ^( I. x/ hcitizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
. l# X( |9 A. a9 F9 s2 O*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
+ o8 f# y. Q, K( H3 H*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
occupation
& K9 G0 L( R% Z* `*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
& g) a% G1 F# w+ N" _*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

field trips
5 C5 T) k* o1 E4 x5 Y        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
% i  d. ~9 f1 r3 |# R        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
5 ?; d* v$ J* z! G! H0 d. Q        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
& y+ B! h* O$ |* N# }- \) q        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement
