Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

$ ^* e" W, L) BKey Responsibilities Include:* Z/ z9 F! ~8 u* {
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
4 W0 P8 u C" @" ^+ O; S) U• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
8 i. W0 I) g6 i& l• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
: @- U( N* W5 m- P" U* X& E5 {! d• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
. B& h1 W6 Q V Z• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.; V% e. D- S& P1 f" N
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting/ u: ]6 z4 `1 Y0 y
• Experience with children
: s3 N! X' W" a% K3 ^3 V5 ^. h• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth ) @0 b3 p* N. h }. p7 P
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
- j" v) K. ?, j% G5 t1 f. E8 n• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.& [1 y! s; K& @' m" S% l
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources1 |& H% L {0 X! N! F
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
/ @; \9 D) J8 B4 B3 L& U• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check 4 P+ D! z# F# U+ c7 g: U

In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
