Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

  h# r! w2 \- V$ C1 Q# Y7 \& a(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

Key Responsibilities Include:
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
- v4 ?6 T$ M" q5 i7 n$ H& g5 O•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
+ U1 N. I' X  g: P0 l5 d0 V1 G: P•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
) u. _4 o, h' m: [6 r- U  ~•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
5 i% G& E5 A, W; j" D! V; ~•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
•        Experience with children
•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
, f; x' }4 e- k9 C•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

+ n7 }3 c) {0 q; ^•        Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
/ X8 p6 k1 ^2 ]! P' r* c9 N. F8 K. L. `•        Documentation of a  clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check

In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
