Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

. K; I F9 z# y& O, K" RKey Responsibilities Include:& s' c- V- S* p9 p8 o+ H
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
0 i6 {: O4 S# h% Q! J+ h• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
7 A. i! W) {# m- e* @1 e% L+ F) x• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
! j; p6 c4 s4 A) e I• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, + L3 I$ O# |" d
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
6 n- ^8 E8 t9 |• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
, ]( R7 s, @( M) }• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.- o2 d X& S T. e7 m3 R& r/ n

The successful candidate will have:3 q7 `) ?$ n# l. b7 m' B
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
, i2 {% A, T6 X; s8 C N• Experience with children
$ p; ]- ^0 G: `# B2 i• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
$ D4 x+ j% ?7 b5 c+ Y• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.+ F: N s2 J; ~
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check , J7 ]7 J( J7 G5 T. |
• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
